I thought there would be a huge thread about this tank.

This is a superb light tank which now may even be my favorite light, but I haven't played the T54 light yet

In a nutshell what I like about this tank is there are no gotchas. Everything about it is excellent. I mean you have no armour, but you have superb mobility and speed, and a pretty damn decent gun. You will notice quite a few players don't see you as a threat and can ignore you at their peril.Unlike a Bulldog where enemy players will even suicide just to kill you ( I guess its that 10 shot auto-loader thing...)

It can of course scout as good as the best of them although I have noticed I can get spotted easier than some of my other lights.  When you get in to trouble in close quarters you have a decent gun and great mobility to run rings around them. Im not saying you can brawl with it and take hits. I mean yes its a brawler, you just cant afford to get shot.  From long distance it seems like a decent sniper to.

The LTTB feels solid compared to some other lights and even meds. I realise its just a computer generated tank but it reacts to being controlled as you would expect.

If you like light tanks I highly recommend this one.

a t50-2 with a good gun, BUT ZERO gun depresion, even less, then wz120 or 121!

I cant say its not good tank, more close to being OP imho (once I get at least decent crew and grip of rather new light tank play styleit gets even better) but few things I did have noticed:

I wonder if it can actaly kill facehuging ELC or E25 since its rather tall, Im ending aiming high more than Id like to. Btw that gun has no elevation either.

Camo is somehow weaker than Im used - but that may be just my inexperienced crew (not even full first skill there)

I runned out of ammo twice - but again I was wasting it on the move/in pixelwars with that great RoF.

On some maps with hills (sand river) you may be too fast (never thought Id say that) and becoming airborn easily.

I´m having a hard time with this one, the ZERO depression is really bad and the height of the tank also, lets see if I have the nerves to get the T54 light...

Erm, it literally has the same depression as those Chinese mediums. -3 for all.

@ Malakaz: OP? I don't see it. Its on a par but different from my WZ131/2.

For sure the new lights introduced are a cut above many currently in the game

but this is as it should be. It was all getting rather esoteric the last few updates.

We needed more tanky tanks and Light tanks have been the poor boy in this match

so its great to see that area addressed. This Russian one though is a proper light tank imho.

There is no gun depression but you guys can work around that I'm sure :)

PS

My main account is on the US server. I've only recently started an account here but

don't have this tank yet.

Okay, I finally got mine and played a match in it. Nice tank, loving the increase of firepower over the MT-25 and the armour sure counts for something. But it's sadly slower than MT-25, and I'll miss the speed. Not that LTTB isn't fast, it's just not as fast as MT-25 despite the stronger engine, because MT-25 had like 30% less ground resistance. Still, the increase in firepower is worth it.

Maybe not as fast in top speed, by I find it more mobile. I seems to not slide so often (for me at least) and hill clombing is awesome.

I had one raher funny game (nothing to be exceptionaly proud of) showing exactly what I like about tank - mobility, russian troll armor when combined with good deal of luck. I was rather in "just wanna drive around" mood (chafee race is out) and I still need to find my way to play this effectively.

@XCabs: not OP but on borderline. In my opinion its strengh is in ability to switch from "light" to "medium" anytime. Cant speak about new US since I havent unlocked them yet but not AFK Pz nor T71 or 13 75 can do that (this one can ding even if once per full moon and has rather large HP pool). I realy think that in right - no my - hands it becomes realy amazing hindered only by depresion.

Im wondering how many players praise the mobility of this tank. Its definitely not superb. The well-hated MT is much more nimble, has better climbing and turning. The viewrange of LTTB is better but camo is clearly worse, hitpoints are higher but chance to evade are less due to less mobility and it stands against higher dmg guns. The gun is better but I face much stronger tanks with it. That makes a lot of trade-offs. The LTTB is more like a light medium than a real scout. So I gonna need time to feel some love for this new buddy.

For the past few months I’ve been ignoring the Soviet scouts which were once my favourite line.  That golden era was prior to the ridiculous hobbling of the T-50. What was a swift, power sliding hard to hit tank, which I reckoned to be the best scout in the game, is now very average and boring. The A-20 is way better at that tier these days because it at least retains it’s speed. The T-50-2 being replaced by the MT-25 was just the other WG boot giving us a kick in the gut.

Logging a fair few games in the MT-25 this weekend has rekindled my love of the mid tier scouts. It was a genuine pleasure.  They gave it a bit of a boost a while back, increasing the rate of turn. Driving it you can almost imagine you’re back in the T-50-2, which was my second favourite tank after the T-50.  I got the first ever Mark of Excellence yesterday in my MT-25 and that session eventually unlocked the LTTB.

Looking at the LTTB in the tech tree there’s only the tracks and the top gun which aren’t already unlocked for me by having been up other Soviet lines.   Just as soon as I get the credits I’ll get one.

And what of the crew?  The T-50 crew will have to come across.  They’re at 80% on their fourth skill and, if what people say about the LTTB is true, I’ll clean up. The T-50 will just sit there idle.  I’ll probably bring all the kit across as well.

Yeah, MT-25 does slide a lot and it doesn't go uphill as well. But on anything moderately tilted or even flat, it outspeeds the LTTB.

Absolutely love it !!!

Look it like this: It is insanely improved T-43. Its much faster in every aspect than T-43, it has much better penetration and accuracy. Also has better view range and radio.

After 20 battles in it, I met tier X only 2x. Most often I was with tier 8 and 9, sometimes even being top tier. You could say that LTTB has slightly worse MM than T-43.

The only serious drove backs are "zero" gun depression and weak armor but there has to be something or it would be really OP.

As Eila_Juutilainen has written few times this tank should not be compared to T-43 but rather to T-44 for logical reasons.

Played mine last night for the first time and... wowza!  It's only vice is the  poor armour. The mobiity and the gun are good and I don't even have the top gun yet.  I dropped 800 gold to get my old T-50 crew in mine and it plays very well.

EDIT:  Do have the top gun by today and, while that gun looks rather silly, it plays like a dream.  I was penning the front glacis of a T-54 last evening, albeit with capped ammo.  Sevral games last evening where I was top scorer in Tier VIII and even a tier IX game.

Woo, just aced this bugger today! http://wotreplays.com/site/1257622#self :izmena:7k spotting, and 1.9k damage.

If you just go on the side of bumps and dips, you can get away with the lack of gun depression (also doing that in the replay to hit that WT).

I find the Bulldog a little bit better so far, I just love the gun depression and mobility on that thing. Plus it can fight enemy scouts a little better. But the LTTB is not far from the Bulldog.

So far I made "Top gun" :medal: with 3k damage but still don`t have "Ace tanker".

LTTB has better camo than Bulldog and very often you can spot and shoot from distance (behind some bush) without uncovering yourself. Its gun is very accurate, more than numbers say, and I think we have a new "ghost tank" in WoT:bush:.

Also, enemy teams always underestimate you, while Bulldog is always primary target .

Unfortunately, in close combat, 1 on 1, LTTB can do almost nothing against Bulldog`s fast firing 175 penetration gun

Not a bad tank but also nothing special. Way to high and nothing compared to bulldog. DPM is fine but dont even try to shoot on the move unless you are very close. Due to all those Bulldogs it should be played very carefully.

Gun Depression really feels like 0, not like chinese -3 and thats what kills this Tank on most maps...

Circling tanks with a Tank this high without Depression only works on completly Flat Ground.

This tank is amazing and it is also amazing to not get a M with 1.4k base XP. -> A lot of players do exceptionally well in this tank.

Oh, and it actually has -3° depression.

You can get away with some old t-50-2 tricks in this thing, that would get you sliding into a corner stopped and dead in the mt-25. Love it so far.
