Had my first game in it last night, hilarifun.

First game

As previously stated, it's nowhere near as invincible as you'd initially think it is - I got alerted to that immediately by a T-46 penning me twice right at the start of that game and dropping me to half HP. Try and avoid using the armour against high pen guns, and use the speed instead.

That said, angled at about 45 degrees, lower pen guns really do seem to struggle against it, especially if you're using the speed (as you should) to constantly move around and make the tank a difficult shot. My verdict on the armour would have to be - don't rely on it solely, but it bounces enough to be useful if you use it right.

The speed of the tank on the other hand... :izmena:

The gun isn't half bad either - it's tier 3 and 4, having masses of penetration isn't too important. Plus it gets preferential matchmaking, so you're only going to have to worry about things like Matildas and Pz B2s, B1s etc. Just load the gold to give yourself a chance to pen those targets if you HAVE to engage them.

The only major downside I've encountered thus far? It turns a bit like a freighter (by tier 3 standards, anyway).

effective armour is around 50mm at the front of the hull and less on the sides and the turret so most tanks at tier 3 and all of tier 4 are going to get through. Only a few tier 2's might struggle.

Depends if you prefer speed or armour, the t127 has the same gun and much better armour if that style of play suits you better.

The gun suffers a lot at tier 4 vs matilda in particular, you basically cannot pen that tank unless you get behind it.

It is currently unclear whether it will return to the shop.

So what are everyone's thoughts on it? Still a dominant tank?

I'm worried there are too many tanks with good guns in its tiers now that have no problem eating through the BT-SV's spaceship hull.

Any TD has always been a threat.

I don't play mine much, but I never relied on it's armour. As far as I'm concerned, it's strong point is not it's armour but it's mobility. Turning is a bit crappy, but then you go 40km/h uphill and all is good.

The fact you can run right into the fire of a Pz1C and take minimal damage forms part of the correct tactics.

In case anyone with 99Euros is interested.  See the specials.

That IS always nice, but honestly not something exclusive to BT-SV even at tier 3.

I just got it today with the european special that is on. It's a super fun tank to drive, gun and armor are average like those from other tanks, nothing special but not poor either. Very capable tank, accelerate uphill, in reverse :)))  The BT2 is basically the same tank, but a tier lower, same awesome engine performance. They are just so much fun to drive.

No.  Thi BT-SV is much faster but has a terrible turning circle.  One way or the other the armour is better.

Had 2 games to day in mine and there was a BT-SV on the opposing side.

More armor means slower... it's give or take. I think the driver will make or break any tank at this level as they are all pretty much soapboxes with guns on them :)

The armour isn't heavy.  It' is just angled so well, better than any other tank in the game as far as I know, that you get bounces from vehicles that would knock the crap out of a BT-7.  That an the fact it moves fast are it's defences.

Asa for the Driver he has nearly reached the fourth skill/perk and has clutch breaking at 100%.

Got it on my main account, just be sure to put some gold into it and you will have a blast.

Treat all derpers as #1 priority, i would also stay away from the T-28E F-30 that they had for sale the first.
