God this tank.....Is brilliant!! Never played the Chaffee before 9.3 but I love it!! 90 battles in and I'm averaging 70% w/r on randoms :D I'll admit this tank probably requires a lot of skill to drive and a lot of map awareness, but if you got those it's an absolute dream. Big tip, active non aggressive scouting first 3-4 mins, then let all hell break loose!

Also remember to take HE shells (I take 6) as you.'ll waste arties, hellcats and the like for roughly 160 damage a pop every 3 secs as well as trash their modules :D

Played both old and new. Like the new a Lot more :-) They really did not nerf the Chaffee too much but still much more enjoyable mm. Have done many 2000+ damage games and master badges with the new M24. Both of which were impossible for me with the old one with 7-11 mm.

And on occasion you get the tier 6 match make where you can really dish it out :child:

I disagree, the faster speed and smaller turret definitely give you more to work with as far as dodging incoming shells, for aggressive light players like myself it is change for the better.

Thinking of going for vents, vert stabs, and optics myself. Might as well make the most of it's shooting on the move ability if I am going to drive it as a active scout, no?

Well, I put vents, enhanced suspension and gonna put coated optics on it as I like active scouting and circling tanks. BUt, and its a big BUT!! I didn't mean to put enhanced suspension, so I cant put on a camo net till I can be botherd to get more gold :sads:

but I can deal with it (I think)

Chaffe suffers quite a bit from the low pen gun, otherwise its good. The other new US lights are all good.

Seriously, if Bulldog has 175 pen and T37 has 150 pen... the Chaffee should have 125 pen (it has 96 now and faces tier 8).

If they gave it more pen they would have to nerf accuracity. i'd rather take it as it is, picking correct ammo type per target basis and you can do some serious damage.

Tried some games with the new Chaffee... Gun is too much of a peashooter. Ok T5 light, not more.

On the other hand you have T37 in T6 now, which pretty much feels like chaffee 2.0 apart from

agility and size. T5 is no keeper tank imo.

edit: I also have to mention the low shell velocity which just feels wrong.

This is, what makes it "difficult" to use at distances. I agree it just feels wrong in comparison to other US LT.

Grinders will have to adjust to that when playing T37.
