Since "Wardaddy" got his own "Fury" movie now, will there be a movie about Kurt Knispel too some day?

I managed to fix most of spoilers. Trick is to avoid BB code for now and use spoiler option from editor ( select what you ant under spoiler, then click on spoiler icon in toolbar)

a movie about a german soldier (one who fights for the bad side) killing the allied forces (who fight on the good side) doesn't exactly sounds like a commercial succes.

Imo, this movie would only become a potentiality if they emphasize all the good characteristics of Kurt (like his criticism against nazi propaganda) and diminish his bad characteristics (being a soldier in the evil reich killing the good guys that sought to end it).

They'd be more likely to make a film about Rommel, they'd be able to specifically deal with the conflict between him as a decent human being & his honour as a soldier, and how he felt compromised being a soldier for a Gov't he referred to himself as criminals. But's there no reprise, no opportunity for any feel good. It's just a tragedy from start to finish. Just like Ernst Udet, just like lots of them. Would love to see these kinds of films but it's not the stuff of Hollywood.

The Germans wont make it, they are still ashamed of that period of their history, even thought they had some very good men in their uniform.

The Americans wont make it, as said above, it'd be about the wrong side, heck, they have to create non-existant American fighter pilots in order to put the Battle of Britain into a film, and 'the right side' won that, just without any US help, Cannucks, Kiwis, Poles, French, Czechs yes, but US, nope, sorry.

For a film about Knispel, or Witman to be made it would have to be British, and I'm not sure any British film maker has the cash to fund a film that would require that amount of investment, can you imagine what the tank hire alone would cost?  And with so few working Tigers (one last time I heard) in existance it would need a lot of computer graphics, also costly

The filmstudios should grow a pair, and make more movies about the other side.

I'm getting really tired of the same America-good-Germany-evil plot in all WWII movies. History is never black and white, and I'm sure it's an opinion shared by many others. The German military had some good people too, and interseting stories to be told.

Just look at the flying aces of wwII for instance -the first 120 people on the list are luftwaffe ffs, and the first 19 people on the list of tank aces, are wehrmacht.

German filmindustry should stop being such pussies. New generations are not to be blamed for the work of old ones....

It is illegal in Germany to promote anything connected to National Socialism, no German film company can make a film about German activity in WWII, they'd be shut down by their own Government.

The most likely way Knispel will get any 'screen time' would be a documentary, like the one that crops up on the Military History channel from to time about Wittman that centres on the massacre at Villers Bocage.  The problem is that has been made already.

The level of interest in WWII tankers is quite limited, quite a few of the people who are interested learning about what happened are on here..
