Hello just wanted to share my thoughts on the new cards. In this case the GTX 970.

I recently upgraded to one.

Pro's:

GPU itself is light this may not seem like an important feature but it is! long cards can put strain on your motherboard.. this card is very light! no worries about bending!

The GPU in this case the Gigabyte G1 is exeptionally cool! my temps have not reached above 58'c even in Star citizens demanding dogfighter module!

frame rates in WOT.... anywhere between 60 and 120 on max graphics at 1080p no problem..

power usage.. very low you wont need to upgrade your PSU...

drivers are very stable.. not sure what nvidia has changed but the latest drivers are flawless!

its great value for money!!

Cons:

card is long... seriously long.. as long as your case is big its no issue...

card feels like its been made on the cheap... yes the components look a little flimsy.. perhaps thats why its so light..

not sure what else to say.. if your running a 770 or less upgrade!! might be worth waiting for the next line of 900 series I hear there are some fearsome models on the way!

I have just upgraded my system to an i7 5930 and an Nvidia 980, great card with a low power output, fantastic performance but to get the best out of these it looks like you need 2 in SLI.

The 780Ti will still be a good buy but the 980 is better in nearly all departments, the 970 is a bargain for an Nvidia card.

May be worth waiting for the Ti version to come out though unless you really want to upgrade now

The 970 has amazing bang for buck...I will install a second in the near future.

That brings back memories when I first got the Geforce 8800GTX compared to my older cards, such a massive beast XD

Got a GTX 670.... might be needing an upgrade soon... or new PC, as the 900 series will most likely not fit in my case... and CPU is getting kind of old (despite being overclocked to 4 GHz, but it's an AMD Phenom II x4 965 black edition) :sceptic:

SLI is your problem here.. I dont think WOT is optimized for using it. try with 1.. see what you get.

when I say 120.. thats the highest ive seen 123 fps. it averages at around 75. but ive not seen it drop below 60 except when the game first starts of course.

@ cobra. I also had a 8800gtx the BFG version.. when I opened the box I could not beleive it... it felt like i was holding an actual BFG..
