So my clan knows what maps we like - Abbey and Mines. We usually play 3-4 games and then get knocked out by a top 100 clan (based on apr - we are 321st).
The tier 6 stage has been fun and we learnt everything the hard way.

We want to land on these maps again but there are other maps that we can land on that a lot of average clans land on as-well - what I'm asking for is tank setups and strategies for the maps:

Mines
Abbey
Mountain Pass
El Halluf
Sand River
Airfield

Please guys no troll answers -I am here to learn - any help would be appreciated.

The setups differ by tier....in tier 6, you have to think that there isn't much of armor, so you go for Speed + ROF ( rate of fire ) like T37(LT)/Cromwell/VK/Type64 and maybe the KV85/ARL. As tactics, for Mines,Abbey,El Halluf,Sand River,Airfield , you should use fast setups with organized rush/taking key points of the map like the Hills/balconey/middle (mines, abbey, sand river, airfield ), spoting the enemy and taking decission of sending tanks or retreating and reforming them in other area..this mainly is decided by what you spot and what tanks get spoted and where...

El Halluf and Mountain Pass are different though..as you can actually camp on those..in ElHalluf, you need like a spoter to A1 ( top ) and to play it on the middle by spotting&sniping..kill some enemies if you see them, gather a group and go in a area in which can provide some cover but also spotting chances and shooting.

Mountain Pass is the worst, as enemy most often decide to Camp hard..the map is difficult and in tier 6, you should try a 2 arty included in the setup and some heavies..wherever they camp, just try to spot 1-2 enemies, let arty work a lot, and when you saw a lot of HP getting damaged from enemy and maybe some tank losses, organize a full push into the enemy if the arty can no longer help at all, try to push the enemy on fighting you while You CAP if you can.

In tier 8 its pretty much the same for Sand River,El Halluf ( LT setups + 1/2 arties ), for Mines,Airfield,El Halluf ( take 3-4 heavies if you are not experimented with Meds/Lights as 50.100,110,IS3 ) and for Mountain Pass ( T32/Pershing is a must, 1-2 arties and the rest complete with 4-5 lights and heavies/meds..depends of side and experience in the tanks )...

Tier 10 : Well, like in tier 8 but with same tanks of tier : IS3->IS7 , T32->T110E5/T57 etc...light tanks->Fast meds(Leopard1/Batchat).Tactics are quite the same.

As a recomandetion, do a lot of Strongholds..it really rotates a lot of maps and you can see better some key areas, good tanks for that map, etc.

Thanks man! :) Just with a light setup on Sand River - what do we do if they have like 9 heavies 4 lights and and an arty and then we are made up of 2 heavies and the rest is meds/lights and maybe 2 arties?

try to jump on teh enemy lights, take them down.

overall, try to play with your superior camo and rof in this situation. pop up at different locations.

generally, in a situation like you postet: just don't go into a direct fight, but wor them down from distance over time untill they are "ripe" ;D

And for the love of god, NO CAMPING AT MOUNTAIN PASS. Please. NO. Or any other map either.

Why? Because that any decent clan know how to melt your camp. And it's gay. And you'll never learn how to play it.

Winners never camp and campers never win. (even if they happen to lose for some stupid reason, they are the moral winner)

however if the camp is done the right way and the people actually camping the right way you will not be able to defeat camps on certain maps.

most of the time these camps are done worng or the campers still get outplayed by so opponent.

however there are very few maps allowing massive camps. the big majority camping is one of the worst options since you lose all map controll.
