The problem with this tank is that, it's roles are hard to achieve. Passive scouting- 56 km/h won't allow the tank to get to a bush in time, despite the 390 meters view range. Flanking- weak gun makes penetrating tier 9 tanks in the back not always an option despite the mobility, so you are most likely to distract enemies than do damage (I would be happy to see this tank with a howitzer). In the end you will find yourself being a reserve light tank that a primary light tank. Even the 59-16 has a similar problem and weaker guns, but with the 60 km/h and weaker guns, the tank is better at passive scouting and worse at making any damage than the T21 (and I hated the 59-16 for that despite really enjoying driving it).

And I don't see how can a 140mm penetrating autoloader with hight mobility be useless, even if it turns out to be bad at scouting (I have not played it, I don't know if it is). The T37 has an autoloader with 137mm penetration and the 59-16 has it MUCH worse- 85mm penetration.

The T21 depends more than average on the amount of tanks that are supporting it and how many tanks it is supporting, while the others in the tier can play with less tanks near them. T37 can play sniper, the AMX 12t can empty it's drum in an unsuspecting tank, the MT-25 can get closer to the enemy tanks to spot them, the VK 26.01 can hunt other light tanks and troll the other enemies with its howitzer.

I agree that the T21 needs a significant buff, along with the 59-16. But is the T21 really useless- that highly depends on how it is played and how the battle flows, just like all other light tanks.

I played the T21 like I played the Easy 8. Flanking people and dealing damage while also actively scouting and cruising around the map. I quite enjoyed it actually. The matchmaking is decent.

In comparison to the new t37 it has actually became rather obsolete, but i like it anyway. I don't use it very actively in the first part of the game, but once the troops start to spread i attempt to rush forward, kill the arty and find lonely enemies to attack. It doesn't always work ofcourse, and my t21 seems to catch fire rather often aswell. It's not a bad a tank but it's certainly one of the worst of the bunch out there at tier 6.

You go from been auto penned by 88mm+ caliber guns to not been, quite a big difference I'd say

I've been grinding this tank recently and needless to say, I think it's one of the worst in the game. It's so completely under-powered at it's tier now thanks to the power creep of adding newer and better vehicles it's just not worth playing. I mean, toe to toe with another tier 6 light, you can't compete or win, even struggles against tier 5 lights! it just doesn't the dpm or agility to outplay it's opponents.

I honestly suggest people free xp it as it's a tank that'll actually effect your stats and WR. With it's poor accuracy, aim time, lack of ability to shoot on the move and it being a relative slow tank (for a light) and large it just had no place in the game, In my view, the tank should be removed and to get to the T-71 you just go through the T-37, i.e. the T-37 should branch off into two trees.

How much DPM you need? T21 has 2090 base DPM its 1:1 with much acclaimed T37 for example.

Any tier 5 will lose a duel with equal pilots. With tier 6 lights T21 needs to play itself an advantage.

I would say T21 might even be more noob friedly than T37 - because of the sluggishness of the T37.

You need effective dpm. With the T-37 the top guns are just so much better than the 76mm M1A2 gun it's not an even competition. It has better penetration, superior aim time and better accuracy. The T-21 cannot utilise it's dpm because it struggles to penetrate or actually hit it's targets and with it's bad aim time you can't make snap shots; it can't even fire effectively on the move. The gun's handling is that bad that although its base spm is the same as the T37, it's realistically far less due to the guns bad characteristics.
