I cannot activate the UML, F5 is useless, perhaps because:

a quick fix for the hangar problem. Special 3D style is not working in hangar for the moment. Will fix later.

UML sound is also not working.

UML sound is not fixed yet, use the new switch to turn it off.

This concerns Abrams and T-80 series.

Sound mod is very prone to updates and difficult to fix, because I like to design my sound event using layers and layers of game logic and containers. If I can't identify the specific gameSyncs that got changed, it can sometimes force me to rebuild the logic tree from ground up.

 

Signal light feature is revived, check the new document instruction_on_glow_shader.txt

Relevant remodels will be updated later, aka leopard2a5/a6 and BMP-1

minor feature update

<camouflageID> is added to all headers. 

  • positive value is supposed to be camouflage ID. a invalid one will be treated as 0
  • 0 means do not change the camouflage
  • negative value like -1 will disable camouflage on this remodel. That means applied camouflage will be transparent. 

 

It's kind of difficult to use.

You can input a random positive integer and hope for the best.

Or you can attempt to locate a particular camo pattern.

A full list of valid IDs can be found in res/packages/scripts.pkg/scripts/item_defs/customization/camouflages/list.xml

pkg file can be force-opened with any compression tool like winrar

Binary xml can be unpacked by wottools v0.5.3/multi

However the text there is not very visual.

 

To try understand what each camo looks like one may take a look at res/shared_content_sandbox-part*.pkg and res/shared_content-part*.pkg

Under vehicles/%NATION%/Camouflage/ you can find all the resource dds. Find your desired pattern here, note the dds filename, look it up in the previous list.xml to obtain the correct ID.

atacms, what an absolute legend you are. I visited this topic now because I've seen some time ago that you mentioned a plan you had about adding support for camos, and the usability problems this would come with. I was going to suggest to do it anyway, without a fancy UI, as dedicated modders would find the way to make it work anyway. And here it is, faster than my request. Awesome, thanks!

#fixe UML sound by temporarily moving mounting point from audio_mods.xml to engine_config.xml
#added support of optional <paintID> in config headers. 
#note that tank with actual colour different from faction default will still cause discolouration in the final result

swinging animator responds to shooting/ being shot/ velocity change (accelerate/brake/drift, etc)

it does not respond to attitude change for the moment, including hull/turret rotation.

#added new actuator swingH** and swingT** will pitch/roll when firing/getting shot/change velocity
#added actuator bone support to static model (hull and turret)
#added new actuator keyword 'blink' that will spent half of the cycle time in start/end state alternatively.
#fixed potential bug in SteelHunter mode when picking up upgrade
#fixed dedicated hangar model not applied on tanks equipped with 3D style.

found a lightweight xml editor, the microsoft xml notepad, very convenient. 

 

However in its default setting some sort of binary mark is added to the file that BigWorld engine could not recognize, causing ownModel.xml to reset itself.

So first we must edit that setting, goto view -> options, under formatting-options, set 'No byte order mark on save' to True.

fixed another random stuck.

 

UML is probably causing Steel Hunter mode to not render upgraded tank model correctly, so for the moment it's advised to disable UML by removing mod_ownmodel.pyc from scripts/client/gui/mods/ folder.
