So, are we now arguing about reading comprehension, or about the fact that Angel is slowing proving there isn't a Pay2Win/Pay4Stats, rather a Skill4Win/Stats element in this game?

Hmm,

Is there any stat that can be higher than WR at this point in time of that account? (not really what my point was about, but what the heck)

Correct me if I am wrong, but those other stats needs some bigger hardware to get going, that is further into the game or?

(as still a relative noob I am not sure)

Of course, WN8.

I could get better stats already if I had the benefits I deny myself on this account, but yes you're right that better hardware will help me a lot.

Finally unlocked the top gun on the T-34-85 after a very painful grind that cost me nearly 200 overall WN8.

Still need to unlock tracks and 2 engines, but slowly the stats should start increasing again. Crew is closing in on 100%.

Awful stock T-34-85 stats. And yes that maximum exp is with premium just before my free day ran out.

Still haven't aced the tank. Let's see if I can do so soon now that I get the top gun.

First of all, thanks for a very interesting thread Angel. I have read it page by page almost entirely - good holiday fun.

For me the message is very clear - gold, skilled crews, mm, etc, all the usual excuses mentioned in the OP, might make a difference between a 3,5k unicum, or a 3k unicum, but if youre not purple - dont blame your wn8 / wr on anything other than yourself.

PS I used to play starcraft 2 a lot and i have met with a similar phenomenon, everyone from bronze to diamond discussing race ballance and how race x or y is imba - the difference is that sc2 forums generally understood this much better than wot forums: if youre not in high masters or grandmasters - just stfu and l2p instead of whining...

What this topic has shown is that we have morons on this forum too and not only in the random battles. Also great experiment, as others have stated. Tomatoes will be tomatoes, since they have no idea what they are doing and unicums will be unicums since they know how to play.

To be honest, I am only following this topic for the T-54. Is it possible to get good stats by flanking, playing like an agile medium tank, instead of spamming TX TD penetration cHEAT shells all over the battlefield.

I can guarantee I'll have pretty good stats in the T-54 without any HEAT shells. Once I get the top gun that is.

Considering that you will not use HEAT, what will be your gun choice? Will you go for lower pen but better handling gun or the higher pen but a bit more derpy one?

I'll definitely go for the 201 pen gun regardless considering the accuracy and aim time stats.

187 battles played on RetardedLion.

First Radley and aced the T-34-85.

Crew is now 97% and the tank is only lacking 2 engine upgrades.

Equipment is rammer, gun laying drive and vents.

WR has been going down due to bad luck but performance is way way up with the new gun.

Spoiler

Replay of that game although it wasn't too special and I made mistakes.

P.S. looks like some mature muppets have been having fun downvoting every post I made on the first 2 pages.

Thank you. :)

2nd radley scored, plus a 2nd ace and a defender medal with a dead gunner. Still lost the game though, last remaining enemy (arty) got me when I killed the capper.

Almost at 200 games played. Will make a slightly longer post then including everything that happened the last 100 since the first post.

Will try to do the same every 100 battles or so.

*200 games update*

Since I started this topic at 107 battles I'll try to make a "summary" every 100 games played... for as long as I can remember to anyway.

The T-34 grind was easy and the tank performed amazingly boosting my WR and WN8 up without any issues whatsoever.

The next step was to get the T-34-85 and unlock the modules.

The T-34-85 grind is pretty damn painful. You need to unlock a second gun which is still bad, then the turret and then the final gun. Takes about 25k exp in total.

In order to speed it up I used my WG new year premium day and played as many battles as I could in the evening to progress.

I had a lot of bad luck with mm tier wise and kept ending up in tier 8 with my 125-126 pen which didn't go amazingly well.

Regardless of the slow progress I managed to unlock the top gun the next day after using my 5x double although the premium had already run out.

In the grind to the top gun my WR dropped significantly and my WN8 even more so.

The account WR dropped to about 60-61% and the WN8 went down by 200 points to 2200 overall.

Once the top gun was installed the tank became a beast and for some reason my mm luck changed too giving me primarily T6 and T7 games. In exchange my teams turned into absolute crap and I lost almost everything despite performing very well.

The tank's WR has now dropped down to 48% while my average damage is rising rapidly.

Also managed to grab 2 Radley-walter's medals after I got the top gun on the tank.

The T-34-85's crew is now 99% and the only module I'm lacking is the top engine which costs 19k exp.

My main issue is the lack of 6th sense which is starting to become a critical flaw when you meet tier 8 tanks and have no clue if you're spotted. That in combination with arty starting to focus me for my stats is making progress diffcult.

Current account and tank stats are as follows:

Back into the purple with the top gun on the T-34-85!

+250 WN8 in 28 battles.

Just curious, why 12 battles in the T1?

MS1 would make a little sense but T1 is a dead end for the purpose of the experiment?

A guess ... It's a spare to MS-1 when it's dead in battle ... also T1 is way more flexible and powerful at close range, so it's easier to get damage and kills, that in turn means faster credits grind early in the game, to progress further with the Rusian med line.

... did I guess right? :)

BTW...

T-34-85 is a beast... but I only really like it now after I have a good crew in it with 6th Sense and camo.

I changed the equipment to Optics, rammer and GLD and often act as a sniper in tier 8 games, and try to play vision games early on. It seems to work pretty well as T-34-85 has a pretty good view range on a tier 6 vehicle. Later on, you can attack crippled top tier heavies and finish them off. I actually play it a lot like a light tank.

Winrate is 59% and climbing.  No mastery badge yet however...
