Why get good crews when you can have a ghetto crew on every single tank? Ghetto crews get you way more street cred anyway, because it shows you don't play to win for stats.

I disagree.

If you move your 100% crew up it means you will play the tanks you actually grind and spend the most time on with a better and better crew up to the high tiers where it's the most important.

Having a better crew here will give you better results giving you more exp and completing the grind faster even if you "don't care about stats".

Also since you've elited the previous tank you can click the little box to speed up the training of a fresh 75% crew and get to 100% much faster on the elited vehicle than you could on a new one.

I don't really intend to play above tier 8 or pay for premium account. As SPG I prefer to attack them from below and make tons of profit from it while they go bankrupt. I will see how profitable SPGs will be at tier 8, but I expect it to be the top tier managable. Most likely I will end at tier 7.

By retraining I always lose some of the crew efficiency and the original vehicle becomes unplayable. If the new tier turns out to be totally unprofitable I can always go back. I wouldn't want to train the original vehicle 2nd time, even if its elited.

Question regarding moving crew up the line.

What is the general consensus on crew skills when you move crew to a new tank, do the skills and perks work from day 1 or does the crew need to reach 100% before the skills and perks work again?

edit: I find the title offensive now because of the editing :)

They will work instantly.

Amazing how much crap whis thread attracts. Are you mad that you rerolled for green and AoA rerolled for supercum f2p?

I did not re-rolled buddy. Maybe if you used your brain [edited] you would have seen my account is from 2011 and i continue to play and keep  even my "bad" tanks (i do not sell any of them and i do not care for stats). Now have a cookie.

If you like the tank its cheaper to keep 100% crew in base tank and put new 75% crew into new one. You need fewer games to get 100% on both, since one is already 100%. You don't get the skills on the new crew, but on most of my tanks the crew doesn't have any 100% skills except for SPG. I would hate to train my Grille crew 2nd time to 100% again. Of course it hurts your WN8 and winrate but since I don't care about stats I can live with that. In he end I will end up with several very well playable SPGs with BIA and partial 2nd skill.

It's a pretty horrible idea to put a fresh crew in tier higher stock vehicle, since not only will the tank be crap because it's stock but the crew is ghetto as well. If you want to still have a crew in the old tank put a 75% crew in that and turn on accelerated training and you will get a decent crew in a short time. Tier 6 is often a good place to train crews since you aren't that handicapped by 75% crews, they earn good money and plenty of decent choices.

That really depends on what your goals are. For me xp, silver and stats are secondary so keeping the crew in the old tank when going up the tree is better

Same with training crew, im not going to waste time moving crew, or equipment for that matter around. A dedicate crew and equipment is much easier even for premiums.

*800 games update*

800 games have passed... and the last 65 have been in the stock T-54.

Personally I feel like the T-44 stock grind was worse than the T-54. I can at least damage some tanks by getting their flanks in the T-54. 175 pen can go through the side of an E-75, but the 144 pen of the T-44 would struggle against an IS-3.

That said however, my experience in the T-54 has been by far the worst of this entire experiment. It's not so much down to the tank... sure I can't carry at all and I have to use a boring passive playstyle since I really don't want to meet a tier 10 tank around a corner as the first tank with my 175mm pen.

However my damage numbers have been pretty okay, a little over 1900 average damage, more than most people manage with the elited tank and even premium ammo use.

BUT I unlocked the T-54 about the same time as the personal missions were released... and that in combination with the worst teams I've ever seen on this planet have stacked defeat upon defeat on my account. Unfortunately with the stock gun there is nothing I can do about that. All I'm able to do is support my team and if that team is trash it will crumble. After ~40 games my WR in the tank was at about 38%. It has improved slightly but even today at the worst point it was back down at 42%.

Once I do get the second gun and can actually fight back against most opponents my WR will rise, but until then I feel like quitting World of Tanks every time I click the battle button.

Overall WN8, down 150 points in 65 games.

Service record and overall WR, down 1,5% in 65 games.

T-54 stats, still stock. 175mm pen with no premium in a tier 9 tank.

That's right, still playing this thing at 2000+ WN8. But my teams are definitely letting me down... badly.

Agree with the above - someone complained perhaps to try and throw you off aim a bit?

How about 'Raw Lion' or 'Lions Raw' can be read and spoken in a number of ways with different meanings :)

In other news - just finished the stock gun grind in the T-54 after 85 games! Thank the gods for that!

It's still slow and sluggish lacking the engine and tracks but at least now I should be able to damage most tanks.

I just lost my final stock game in a 1v1 duel. Me with 100 hp T-54 vs 800 hp E-75. Not fun when you can't pen him frontally. I did however manage to bounce his shell and catch his side. Only problem was I bounced 2 shells off his side regardless, failed to take out his tracks and was unable to circle him with the stock config tank. So he got me when he had 270 hp left. -.-

So... Final stock T-54 stats. WR is still absolutely horrible, the stream of terrible teams just continues to flow.

Still, not bad (apart from WR) for 175mm pen. For comparison this is like playing tier 9-10 only with an IS pen wise. Just does much less damage when you do pen.

Overall WN8 at this moment. Down 200 points in 85 games.

Stock tank WN8

Also I got my first mark of excellence in my last game. So in 85 games I've surpassed the values 65% of players manage to get playing 100 games in the tank?

And I did that stock? I'm not sure if I'm impressed with myself or losing more faith in the playerbase.
