So, I've signed up for the AW Beta. It's looking very exciting.

That made me wonder: what will happen to WoT?

I heard a lot of people uninstalling WoT when AW rolls out, how many will eventually in practice?

Because I don't think I'll quit WoT. I just trade a few of my playhours for some hours of AW.

Same as happened when MWO and many other titles killed off WoT.

Ahh yes, the replication of the historic flood of people that lemming rushed off to the other 'new' game because WoT sux.

Didn't happen did it?

I'm not so fussed on the modern stuff and when you consider how much is NOT known about the various modern tanks, the blueprint tanks of WoT don't seem so ridiculous - at least they had the specifications and a working knowledge of what the armour was capable of (if properly made etc etc)

I dabbled with the 'other' WW2 tank game but it didn't work for me - for various reasons, I'll  probably have a go at the new game but it will have to be something special to tear me away, so most likely I'll just stick with WoT.

If their game model is good and they bring out WW2 kit I'll definetly might take more of an interest, however at the minute WoT still hits the spot for me.

WoT was disappointing in 2014. Not of content, but WG inability to fix stuff that pisses everyone off.
And after 3 years it became boring as shiet. Not uninstaling but wont play normaly for sure.

And about ''wot killer games'' - who got big guns as AW has? :D

Idk. I'm pretty sure I won't quit WoT cause I don't like modern tanks, only WW2 ones (with very few exceptions). I actually won access to the closed beta through their art contest but I'm mostly curious about their arty since it seems that AW's TDs play a very different role than the one they play here, which is why they don't really seem interesting to me.

For me, modern tanks look better - big [edited]gun on small afv, or quad rocketlaunchers :D
Or it looks like spaceship.

But it all comes down to battle atmosphere - which WoT doesnt have without sound mods.

I hear and see lots of people on forums every day, uninstalling the game... Sometimes, those are the same guys, day after day. Judging by all this, WoT has negative number of players already - has that happened yet?

Gameplay seems like a tank version of battlefield.

I must say the environment looks quite a lot better than in WoT, more realistic in some way.

I prefer WoT though considering a battlefield gameplay.

WoT will be around as always. I have no interest in playing AW, I just hope it's successful enough to force WG to actually fix/update things that have been in need of their attention for ages.

I am excited about AW. I am tired of WG broken promises so I am ready to jump ship if AW proves superior.

As others have pointed out. Many games have come out that should, according to some, have killed of WoT. Fact is its simply not happened. Look at me as a good example.

I play WoT, although not for the last month much as I have been doing stuff. I play Wt to. I would not have given up my Wt plains for WoWP even if it had been any good and Wg just lost out on some of my money by making a c*^p game and then trying to ram it down my more for months on end. Also I have not given up WoT for WtGF. I simply play both sometimes in the one night.  All I am doing is playing more games over the same time frame. As are many others.

Times are changing people being dedicated to just one game is going the way of the Fax machine. Yes AW will have its dedicated players, as do all games. But for the most part it will just get a slot in a players pantheon of games. Of course if it truly sucks as WoWP did then all bets are off and only the truly bossed will fail to see that the game is a steaming pile of (insert ban provoking expletive of your own choice hear).

So is the is the end of WoT? No but they are starting to find the field is getting a little filled up with other games aimed at the players. Hopefully this will make them solve some of the problems with the game. Yah like that's ever going to happen. :)

I'll play both, like I do WoT and WT now. Just add it to the growing list of games I play :)

Armored Warfare because:

1. Modern tanks look much better.

2. SPG's might be stronger, balanced, fun.

3. Fresh.

4. PvE.

Too early to talk about gameplay.

I am average player who playes WoT for fun...and I have already uninstalled it once (a week before 9.3 came). Then I wanted to try it when I read that nerf of FV304 (my favourite) was not as hard. So I returned few weeks ago (to 9.5) and continue playing it. But when open beta of AW comes and if it is playable for me I probably leave WoT again. I like modern tanks more and WG ruins game more and more with every new patch.

Now i play both WoT and WT Ground Forces .  And when Armored Warfare will come i will play that too.

More competition means more good stuff for us.   ;)

You made a great point there. There have been stuff implemented in War Thunder that encouraged WG to improve WoT. I hope WoT will be competetive against AW, but AW will never reach such a big playercount as WoT so fast, especially since WoT is still growing.

I'm really curious too how exactly this warning will be implemented....Will it appear when the arty fired on you? Or will it appear if they just hover their aiming circle over you?

Both versions sound like they could easily be used for trolling.
