This is a picture I've seen relating to the ongoing unpleasantness in eastern Ukraine. This thing is freaking huge and I have failed to find any information about it. The original caption says it is a vehicle of the Ukrainian army.

Any ideas?

Looks like it might be a variant of the MT-LB indeed

According to the wiki, it is just over 2 metres high, so either the bloke on top is an oompah oompah,  or he's standing on something taller some distance away. Camera shenanigans on the interweaving?  Disgraceful.

Ok thats a good starter for 10, but I would argue that all of the examples pictured in the linked article only have six road wheels (per side) and the vehicle in question has seven. Also the front of the vehicle in question doesn't extend beyond the front idler/drive sprocket where as the pictures of the MT-LB all have a distinct 'nose' extending forward of the tracks.

Perspective is a good point, but look at the speed limit sign that is behind the vehicle. I don't know the average height of a road sign but I'm just under 6 feet tall and all road signs are well above my head. This thing is pretty monstrous.

Isn't there a way that you can like paste a picture into google and it will look for similar pics or websites about it?

My brother just linked news article with this same vehicle, asking what is it. At first I though MT-LB variant, but it doesn't really have anything in common with MT-LB. Would love to know what it is.

Same vehicle from different angle:

Good call, however the link describes an amphibious vehicle, and again the the front of the both these vehicles differ considerably. I would go as far to guess mystery vehicle is not amphibious, at least to my limited knowledge and understanding. Keep the suggestions coming we'll figure it out eventually.

Nice, the different perspective gives a better impression of the size, it's not as massive as I first thought. But it still looks pretty big.

heh,

imagine mine-laying tanks ingame

then imagine getting kills with minelaying tanks ingame

then imagine the reasons people come up with for why you are a noob because a tank with no gun killed them.

Hey, don't give WG any new ideas!

Just wondering whether that would surpass Arty as the most hated class.
