So, if I did.... \\bexample\\b|\\bexample2\\b|\\bexample3\\b  ..... then that would block any entire sentence with that specific word?

I think I did this, don't know if I did it wrong, but maybe I did, because it didn't seem to work?

I can see the bottom 3 xml's are for those, but why that separate line?

I'm not getting it?

Can you give me a game screenshot and show what panels those 6 xml's apply's to?

Or are the bottom 3 xml files the ones we edit, and the line I quoted is just showing the "defaults" for those?

Okay, looks like I answered my own question.....

Here's the best filter of the game..... put in every bad for the most part I could find.

Block Quote

BTW, I want to thank you Krzysztof.....

You've finally made a filter mod that now works like it should.  Your mod is now better than the Battle Messenger mod.  EVERYONE SHOULD USE YOUR MOD NOW!!! :)

We can also now use the Chat Scroll mod because of your new mod.

Thank you again.....  I think we are good to go now.

Please use my filter list, seems to work great.  I think it's better this way, that way some words that are not bad words don't get blocked.

Me and my mod pack users were having regular problems with sentences being blocked that had no bad words in them.

Also, if you ever get the chance, please see how the chat scroll mod works and add it also to your mod.  It technically should be updated to work with the new scroll swf that's in the game.

Don't know if you can, but fyi....  Your system would for sure then take over, and Battle Messenger would be obsolete.

Anyway, thanks again, you the man....

p.s. change your thread title to 9.7.  :)

BTW, if anyone has any suggestions of words to add, or variations of words etc., please PM me, and I'll update the list.

Update, had to fix some typos.... caused errors.

Hey Krzysztof......  Have a problem.

When I run any Sound mod so far, I get this error the very first time type something in a game, but not after, works fine after.

WarThunder (all sounds)for example doesn't do it every game it seems, but when I used Duke Nukem voices, and TwoStepsFromHell music mod (both of which likely should be updated) I do get this error at the beginning of every battle, the first entry I type only.

Some of my mod pack users report other issues, like not being able to type at all, etc.

The mod does work fine however it seems without any sort of sound mod.

So, I guess I'm asking if there is a way for you to make the mod "less sensitive" to the errors and imperfections of sound mods?

Because, I don't think a sound mod exists that is perfect, or maybe it's some sort of incompatibility?

BTW, I've tested this various ways, and it's all the same.  The chat scroll mod also isn't related to the issue.  Still occurs without it.

It's entirely the Chat Filter mod.

I didn't notice it at first because I don't usually use sound mods.

Thoughts?

BTW, is my coding above look okay?  I went crazy with it lol.

PYTHON Log

Spoiler

So, you have no idea why sound mods are conflicting for some reason with your mod and causing that send error message, and it only occuring on the first typing, but works fine every typing after that (at least for me, not sure about my users)?

This is not good, because sound mods simply can't be used, so really I can't use this mod, because people are going to want to use sound mods, unless the problem is with my coding somehow?

As to the coding, I did that on purpose, that way only the full words were blocked and not parts of a word.

When I tried your other examples, the mod was blocking regular sentences that had no bad words in them, so I went for word specific blocking instead.

Unless you have some other suggestion?

Hey Krzysztof.....

If you could, you can download my Mod Pack, install some base stuff, select some sounds, and then replace the Battle Messenger mod with yours, maybe use my config (or try with and without) and see if you can test to find what the problem might be?  I'm sure there's some testing method right you can use to find out of your mod is conflicting with sound mods somehow?

Really hope you can fix this eventually, I was finally happy to be using your mod, now still can't.  sniffle sniffle.

Thanks

Okay, so further testing and it seems that when using the most updated Sound Mods that the Send Message error on the very first typing into chat will only occur sometimes, not every time.

I've tested this with War Thunder sounds, Laser Gun Sounds LGMOD (based off of GnomeFathers), and a new developer updated version of the TwoStepsFromHell sound mod.

However, when I used older sound mods like an older version of TwoStepsFromHell and an old Duke Nukem, it seems the error message occurs every first time typing into chat.

Again, only this issue seems to occur I guess, further typing no error occurs.

So, something with the Chat Filter mod is being sensitive to whatever little imperfections exist with sound mods, any it seems.

Of course, maybe something else also is involved, for I haven't only tested the filter mod with a sound mod, but there doesn't seem to be any noticable issues, but who knows.

Unless the issue is somehow with my config?

I hope you can work on this and figure it out, because your mod is now the best mod, better than BattleMessenger, and once people know this, it will become the go to mod, because they can then use Chat Scroll again also.

i do. but the main options i need are the one silencing dead players. best spam protection above anything else. did you hard code these?

vehicle_message_panel: bottom panel  > "track damaged by GoldShootingNoob"

##

as you support xvm wn8, could you support other stat mods too? like this i.e.

##

option to disable filters in certain modes like team?

i am against by-battle type filtering: if you don't like swearing while your clan does that than you should change the clan (like i did couple of times already)

1.) the difference in rating is not in question, itsthe mod that is displaying them. StatScript displays WGR, via players panels. this rating is also shown in chat, like "4567 Player [Clan]". should be asay to filter for that, but rating filter is less important for me. but would be nice of course.

2.) you didn't answer the first question of me, is dead/alive filter in place? this is actually quite important, cause most of the [edited]comments come from dead players to be honest. i personally think that it's the only real needed filter =)

it's not about swearing in a clan, i agree with you on that. it's just that blocking pings or chat in team mode or CW isn't the best thing to do. this only aplies for own team, filter stuff would still apply for the enemy.

tl;dr: please clarify in the first post which filters are included, aka hard coded.

ps: i have some questions about research_watchdog, is there a topic for it? seems i'm to dumb to find it.

edit: just played some laddeer games... while i aplaude for "STICK WITH YOUR OWN RULES", it's a bit suboptimal in that mode =)

1) yes

2) i am not sure; trust me that using rating filtering chat becomes already quiet enough; do you want to block dead enemies?

rating filter is tied to XVM, so yes, please add dead player filtering, 90% of rage chatting garbage is from them. if you want, also block own chat (stick with your own rules" ...) when dead.

btw, i saw a script some time ago (chinese server) that atomatically left the battle after tank got destroyed. you could add a function like that - prevent user from talking garbage, the hard way. :justwait:

Hmmm.....  Good question, I can't remember now.

I think I might have checked it, and it was occuring still, but I can't remember now it's been so long LOL.

I will test it as soon as I can here.

Okay Krzysztof....  Here are the results.

It looks like I might have been wrong before.  It turns out that the error message may be the new error message that we get when we try to type something before the Countdown starts.

This is a new thing with 9.7.  The games standard message if I remember right is something like, "Please wait till countdown starts" or something, I can't remember.

The only thing is, I was certain I tested several times waiting a little bit also before typing, so the countdown would have started, so I'm not sure what's going on.

But I can't reproduce the problem yet, and the only time I have gotten it so far now is when I try to type before the countdown starts.

So, what I'm going to do is test this for awhile, to see if the problem will happen again, just to make sure.

Dang, it's so strange....  I'm certain I waited several times also before typing.  So, it doesn't make sense.  So, just going to have to test some I guess.

Let's wait and see then.  If that is the problem, it would be good if you could match the games normal error message, so it doesn't confuse people, thinking there's an error with the mod or something.

Ack....  I hate troubleshooting, which is funny.

change blockDead option to true and let me know (but I warn you that I have not tested it yet)
