After I read a couple of days ago that FTR was closing, I was quite unhappy but after reading why, I am very pleased.

Silentstalker did an amazing job and in that last post, he made me realize that in order for World of Tanks to become a brilliant game (I would say it is only "great" atm) they need to listen to the playerbase.

"I don’t feel like Wargaming has a clear vision, as there is little to achieve gameplay-wise left for them apart from making more and more money"

That sentence there did it for me, WG are out of ideas, they need to listen to the playerbase to improve that game and not make it about making money and bringing in awful premium tanks such as the Panther 8.8. For goodness sake, they had the BT-SV on offer 3 times over the Christmas calendar, does that sound like a company that wants what is best for it's players? I, and am sure many others, have read the development section, there are some absolutely amazing ideas that filter through there but I am not aware of any of them that will/have been implemented. It seems it is the job of our community contributors to even bother trying to give advice to WG.

"Armored Warfare developers have a vision, that doesn’t consist entirely of selling you more and more stuff – and they listen to the players. An example: it took me two years to convince Wargaming to put Czechoslovak tanks into the game. It took me three minutes to do that with Obsidian."

That is what gaming should be, it should be fun, a company that makes the game more fun for the players and not the pay to win monstrosity World of Tanks is heading to. Alongside with the statement from Silentstalker, I don't think all of the ideas are good but some of them are great and I don't see why WG can't add them into the game as well as removing some of the bad stuff. They have some massive competition from WT and AW and I wouldn't be surprised if World of Tanks lost a lot of their playerbase from this. I am staying though, in the hope that the game will improve.

Wargaming need that vision that Obsidian have, it isn't too late! I mean come on, was it two years ago they said HAVOC would be implemented "next patch" but why is it not here yet all those patches later? They should stop making false promises, start listening to the playerbase and stop with the robots that answer the tickets.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but after what Silentstalker has said, it made me realize too late what is going wrong.

Thank you Silentstalker for you contribution, have a great time working for Obsidian.

Implying that every players wants CZ tanks.

Implying that it takes same effort to put a tech tree in the game that is already developed as in the game that is in closed apha.

OP perhaps look at it from this way: over time a company and product can grow to such an extend that internally it starts to stagnate and internal focus shifts to upkeep and to further monetization. Thus creative development and listening to input, drops further down the list of 'important things to do'.

Seen it numerous times in the past. Even in every day life.

Surprise, surprise. A promotion of any sorts might indeed yield some money.

@ topic: I didn't need a SS to make me realize that WoT isn't a game I'll put all my faith into.

it took him 2 posts to make minsk investigate how bad was the eu customer support.

you may not like his opinions, but at least was a reliable source of info and link with the devs.

Feeding him info was a great way to undermine EU staff authority. That kind of thing means hidden agenda.

Really?

If they had done that we would have tank horns and tanks driving underwater and other stupid ideas.

Luckily they know that players don't really know what makes a good game.

Because you seem to be on a private vendetta against SS, trying to deprive him of any appreciation and credit for the positive and useful things he did.

(And no, he is far from being a saint.)

Yes, the rest of it was fluff.

AW developers have a vision, yes.  Like any company it is to make money.

Where did I said anything here against him?

My reply was to OP and his 'reasons' why Obsidian is great and WG is evil.

Quite.

Nearly every single post I have seen of Edger2020's in the last few days has been insulting to SS and FTR, with some of his statements implying stuff that is simply not true.

No idea why he is on such a vendetta (hall of shame?) but he is certainly not able to take a balanced view of SS / FTR and the many useful contibutions made to WoT and its playerbase, regardless of the occasional "bad thing".
