The player base is so divided that whatever part of the players WG would want to listen would just make the changes as unappealing to the other part.

Obsidian is doing what every developer does when they're working on a new game and need to attract players. WG is doing what every developer does when they already have a game with an established playerbase. When will people realise this? Probably never because pattern recognition and critical, logical thought are hard.
I want AW to do well because WG could use a kick in the butt, but the way some people seem to think of Obsidian as some kind of messiah that will save us all and will never make any unpopular decisions is laughable.

Go ahead, try and find Czech tank fitting AW timeframe that IS NOT T-55, T-72 etc with Czech emblem and some more crap on it. Stalker's motto should be "Copytanks are bad unless they are Czech!"
You guys take SS as a god of some sort which is funny. Sure he was fairly reliable source of translations but majority of other content was rubbish (except stricte historical articles). How to convince a fanatical Czechtank lover to sign the contract? You should know the answer.

He wont work for Obsidian. He will work for whatever the Russian company name is. Obsidian is just hired to create the game as told to. What can be said about their Russian employers? They're pushing out cheap knock off pay2win games for both mobile and PC. Quantity over quality in their case. Have you ever heard about one of their games like their MMORPG? No? Maybe because they are all crap.

Absolutely. Obsidian's plan seems to be "lets make the same game but with modern tanks and then promise to change all the bits which people grumble about". This cynical observer sees an equally cynical cash grab which will either result in a superior game or, more likely, a game with a different set of issues.

Tanks can be equipped or modded to drive under water in RL.
Where as giving a tank crew some "tea and pudding" or some "coca cola" will of course make them better crewmen! (can we have some carrots for extended viewrange?)

And that can be either a forum swamped with artythreads, or a single experienced player offering elaborate feedback.
