There are several major changes for the Team Battle mode in the pipeline.

Great news,

 

Didn't expect this kind of content in the 9.7.

Does this ranking system goes along with special rewards ? Credits/Golds/Others ?

Do you plan to progressively replace the current WGL system by this (not so) new game mode ?

What numbers of tanks and which tiers will be used?

 

Are any changes already under consideration as the format develops?

This is much better then old esl system. I hope that will be some special rewards for rankings

apply the same to random battles and this game will be finally a stable game and turn into a huge succes.

I belive Team Battles as the format will stay , the 54/7 , and this will be an addition to that system, where you can have your permanent team ( up to 12 ppl per team, so you have substitutes )

As said before, it's like the ESL bronze/silver league but  making it less complicated to play in it.

 

Sounds like a good idea, so that players looking for a training ground for ESL, they can find their equal opponents , while not so talented teams won't get sealclubbed by stronk guys.

Finally we have something to work with here. This system looks familiar though, kinda like blizzards ranking system in sc2.

Random battles are random. Why is so hard too understand?

Dear Wargaming,

 

congratulations to the nice ideas for the team battles. 

 

Most successful online games have 'ranked' games and 'unranked' games. Have you though of introducing the same concept to random battles to match up players in skill levels? This could significantly improve the gameplay experience for competitive players without having to team up with 3-10 other players first. I guess only a fraction of players currently play in team matches? Then more games could be exciting and close rather than one team being steamrolled every 3-6th match. Also this could significantly reduce the frustration of weaker players. In other games it works really well and you can implement that dynamically in the match making process, so waiting times are still incredibly short (basically matching from the current pool of players. Stats are publicly available, this would be really easy for your programmers to implement.

 

Improving team battles is nice, but as mentioned I think the random battles could benefit from this concept without losing the benefits of fast loading times and skill variation. Also, it would engage player wanting to level up and improve and eliminate a lot of the current frustrations. It works very well for other online games, so please have a thought about it.

Truly random: Players and tanks are randomly selected and a team can consist of anything from MS-1's on one side to Maus' on the other team with random numbers of players from anywhere in the EU of any skill set on each team. Do we have this now? No, tanks are already factored into the equation by weight, and MM distributes tanks in a -2+2 tier layout. We also have two teams of 15 players in each. Therefore this aspect of it is not random and so therefore too the battles are not as random as some believe it is. What others are asking is for players to be factored into the equation now too so your sentiment of 'random battles are random' is not quite what you make it out to be. So much is lost in translation so to speak, but this is another argument for every other post out there on the forums.

While I fully support this great change for teambattles, if the teams are not able to choose what map they play on it is not as good as it could be. If you wish for it to be a training platform where teams can learn and perfect ESL tactics then you need to be able to select the map so you don't have to wait playing random maps just so you you can test 1 tactic.
This is the biggest feature I feel should be implemented and will make this mode much more useful for teams imo.

It would be next to impossible to implement. Selecting the map before entering queue would make the waiting time much longer as there are over 10 maps. And as we know, team battles aren't as popular as random battles. Team battles, in my opinion, are for improving teamwork. For creating new strategies and testing them, training room is the best place.

 

However, I do think there should be ability to choose to play only on those maps that are used in WGL. That wouldn't make they queue too long, and would make team battles even better place to train for real tournaments and leagues.
