I use to fear this map and lost frequently on it. Since I got my Marder II of all things for some reason I'm having a bit of success with it, speaking of which over the weekend I pulled Mittenguard 3 times in a row with the Marder.

I still don't like it.I don't feel like I've learned much apart from maybe aiming quickly and getting out of dodge as quick as possible.

All it seems is rush down to town or rush out to sides. Snipe a bit and if your side has the upper hand push over to oppositions side and mop up.

If your arty just forget about it, unless you have someone watching your back your fried.

I just REFUSE to play on Mittengard.

To be blowed up during first 20 s is the only good thing on that sh.itmap.

Its a very strange map I mean why the racing start by placing tanks on a steep slope. Its terrain that you have to get off as fast as possible or die its true but if they made it flat and more interesting you could actually use it.

Might as well just do away with it and start everyone closer to the buildings.

Very odd map indeed.

I can give some feedback here as a newbie that had some 1500 games recently in tiers 1 - 4.

Province, Malinovka and Mines (TD hill camping for the win) taught me some terrible habits, notably bush camping. This doesn't work. At least 9/10 times it doesn't. The team that camps on Prok and Malinovka in higher tiers gets flanked and thrashed more often than not. Himmelsdorf deviated from this somewhat but there are still enough places there for you to hide.

Mittengard was a shock to me. Being in a Vickers with a 6-pdr didn't help, but moving battles and map awareness were foreign to me and no map but Mittengard had the potential to teach me this.

The map isn't perfect and will favour the T1 and Pz II as notable examples, but it may just stop this fascination with sitting in bushes. On the other hand it may encourage yolosuicirushing, but I do hope it teaches new players some map awareness.

It's a poor map. It's all very well suggesting that new players learn to use cover here etc but it really doesn't give them time. You have to make the choice in a split second and just rush there and hope. It's all very well for the experienced. They've done it once or twice before but how can this be a good learning experience for new players?

If they make a mistake at that point, they're straight back to garage, end of lesson.

Why not let them think about it for a moment. Maybe...just maybe, they might.

Think about it that is.

Province, another low level only map teaches you that cover, both hard and soft are invaluable. The only issue on that one is it can teach you to try to out camp your enemy which isn't generally a good thing (although it can work in some games). It also teaches you about the little things regarding both yours and others vehicles like depression for example and how to use it, as well as spotting.

Pound for pound, Mittengard is in my view, the worst map.

when the timer ticks to 0 exit to garage straight away and no penalty gets taken ,if you get any credits or xp at all it will be forfeited always go back to garage using the ESC button

Since the change I have removed any Tier 2 with out a turret, don't bother with Tier 1 and only use agile, speedy little sports tanks............ made a great difference and made the map more enjoyable........ makes the difference on Mines too.

Mittengard is terrible to play. It always lags somewhat and thus is a death trap.

At least the newbees realize one thing with that map. They play a total outdated singlecore gameengine, which lags badly when a couple of tanks appear at the same time and the flakcannons cry. Hopefully they don't invest a single buck in this bulIshit.

Played on it a few times and not changed my opinion.

Mittengard struck me as a joke map I mean it wouldnt be so bad if the start positions were not on a skateboard ramp its so obviously artificial looking its hard to take it seriousy.

Once the game starts its also dead map space, its just an arena map with some ruined buildings in the center and a racing start.

Flatten out the start areas add some more interesting terrain around the central area and its probably a halfway decent beginners map.

They're trying to turn it into a 'racing' game. Attract all the kids who like to bomb around as fast as possible and aren't interested in tactics or patience. Hence the new motion physics too. All the others of us are then pushed into higher tiers where WG make all their money. It's a corporate strategy, but I think it will backfire as the map selection is now terrible and everyone is eagerly waiting to see what Armored Warfare is going to offer instead.

Most retarded map ever.

Only thing you learn in this map is how to tune your PC so that it loads the map quickly. Otherwise, if you load the map 15 seconds later, you wake up as a pile of wreckage.

And they removed Province, the map where you really learnt about camouflage and spotting...

This is the most horrible map they ever made.

I dont play it anymore. When i appear on this map....I disconnect.

And if this map stays in the game I go away...like to play tier 2 tanks....but not on this map

I am pretty sure that Mittengard is meant to be a fun map, nothing more. There is no problem with that.
