I am fairly new to commanding. clan wars, strongholds etc. recently I find myself lacking the get up and go prior to a fight. I have also been making poor decisions and calling far too late. seems like a downard spiral some days.

How do you make sure you are on top form. How do you prevent those nights when you cant be bothered. What can I do to retain focus.

any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Three Solutions:

1. Grow a pair.

2. Drink more.

3. Dont command.

If you have 4k games don't command, rather get decent stats and join as a 10th player in a TC that is either freestyle or commanded by someone, look at the good players there. Copy them. Then later evolve the tactics.

I got my first commanding experience only after 15k games?

Watch QB or that -NT- guy. Both amazing Field commanders.

Hmm, can't answer this immediatly. Do you actually like commanding? How often have you done it?

I have more than 4k games. sitting in on TC's is a sound plan doe any good clans play them though?

Yes I enjoy it most of the time its just those odd nights, bad day at work, tired etc etc. I am fairly new to it but I do CW 1-3 nights pr week and strongholds 3 times a week.

Basic things FC should know:

1. Maps (hard covers, hulldowns, spotting routes, passive spotting bushes, arty covers and firing lines)

2. Strengths of used tanks

3. Player skills (Who play mediums or hevies well, who can do independent decisions "solo spotter on one flank" )

About commanding and tactics

1. use spotters right (Know what your enemy is doing, stay one step ahead.)

2. Be active (get map control/don´t give it for free, Make enemy run after your moves, not the other way.)

3. Try to locate tanks without support and get them fast if you can.

4. If you have better positions and enemy is losing HP faster than you, there is no  need to hurry. Just take your time and push when they are weak enough. (Part of map control)

5. If there is time, tell your plans ahead so your team has more time to get ready.

By that logic we should watch Hami lead...

Few adds here.

1. Decide tactic before cw opens. This gives you more time to explain it to your team and pick correct tanks. Of course adjustments needs to be done as tanks can be frozen but you have more time to do that too.

2. Have few tactics ready for mostly played maps. When tired, use something that players know too.

3. Detailed briefing before CW gives better results. Even though you have played same map alot, I have seen that people makes basic mistakes if briefing is not done correctly. this also makes leading easier during game, when team knows what to do.

4. Ask other FC to lead if really tired. If your head is not in the game you are in a way to lose if enemy does something unexpected.

Don't forget that CW isn't the only place where you can practice. Strongholds (not tier 6!) are a good way to get used to different maps and situations. That will help you with your decision making.

If the level of teamplay in your clan isn't adequate, Strongholds will give your members the opportunity to get used to basic CW tactics, such as focusing fire and teamshielding. They can also get used to you (and you to them).

So basically: if you lose the CW landing after 1-2 battles, don't stop. Just play SHs for an hour.

If you compare -NT-'s avg wn8 and their cw success and QB's failures to lead any battles, you would realize that Scania full of sarcasm is incoming any moment after that post.

But can't expect much from people who thought Xen got robbed off his clan for real. lellel

That epic spiral of failure happens to everyone, even the best. When my clan (IDEAL) loses a game, maybe two, in really stupid ways, then the performance very quickly drops very significantly (tilt) and it's extremely hard to get out of that. It's best to just call it a day and take a break.
