Hello Tankers! :)

On Rita's Status Report, a new premium LIGHT TANK appeared on supertest.

("Artillery" is part of his name, it isn't one)

It's the Birthday gift tank of 2015 (source)

Log in between the 12.08.2015 and the 17.08.2015 and it will be yours, for free.

Description:
Between 1934 and 1935, the design bureau of the Kharkov steam-engine plant developed an artillery variant of the mass-produced BT-7 light tank. The 76,2mm KT-28 gun was installed in a new, larger elliptical turret. Apart from that, a part of the vehicles received new radios. 155 artillery BT-7 were produced in total and they participated in the fighting on Karelian peninsula and in Manchuria during the first stages of the Second World War.

Stats + comparizon with regular BT-7

What do you think of this one? Will you keep it? ;)

I hardly see this thing OP.. So fragile, 0.57 acc, no APCR and normal MM, it doesn't really looks like the 76i with its super armor, gun and pef MM.. ;)

I just hope it won't be exclusively sold in crap expensive bundles like GrossTraktor.....

Possible.
But I have doubts concerning Christmas.
1) Because devs create the Chrismas tanks later in the year.

2) And until now, WG only gave Tier 2 for Christmas. The only Tier 3 gift was for the 15th anniversary of WG. (LTP)

So if it's a gift, it would more probably be for WG's birthday or even if they win the Golden Joystick Award (even if in 2013, they gave us Tier 2).

According to RSR it will probably be this year's anniversary gift. One wonders why they didn't simply allow the tech tree BT-7 to mount the KT-28 gun, especially since it has already been in the game for a long time as the stock gun on the T-28. I had hoped for a more interesting anniversary gift than yet another Soviet tank, but it'll be fun all the same, and it may be just as well that such a fast tank mounting a howitzer sees limited distribution. The lack of HEAT ammo concerns me since it apparently will see tier 5 matches; and since the HE doesn't even do the full 175 damage typical of its calibre, even dealing a single damage point to a KV-1 from any angle will tend to require multiple shots.

Garbage compared to Pz.4A, can't see a point in playing it.

I'm quite intrigued by this machine.

I have the BT-SV so may get this (if it ever comes out) to do a direct comparison between them. So far im am definitely impressed by the mobility of the machine so flanking fire with 37mm of penetration on that derp should be very easy.

37+ Hp/T... that ridiculously high. One of the highest in-game? Also that armour is weak but looking at the sloping it could be quite effective against lower tier guns.

The lack of HEAT is quite annoying. But maybe WG will change it after some time like they buffed the T7cc.
About the fact the regulat BT doesn't have this gun and the fact it's a soviet gift: I don't really mind about it. :D The fact it is a premium make it more profitable (Tier 7 crew training) and the gameplay will be almost unique. :)

And because it historically fought, maybe it could be played in Historical Battles. (when they will be back........ one day.)

Yeah. Not a lot of people seem very aware of this because they don't care about low tiers, but the BT series has among the highest power to weight ratios in the game, while at the same time having decent terrain stats. The 42hp/ton of the BT-2 is the highest that I'm aware of.

The armour is not effective since it gets partially overmatched even by 37mm guns. The upper glacis and tracks may bounce a few machinegun bullets or some of the worse tier 2 guns and autocannons, but that's it.

I also checked on Tank Inspector and  the BT tanks have pretty good dispersion on the move. This one included.
In fact, compared to the BT-7

-0.01 added to dispersion value on the move and when rotating

-much improved dispersion values when moving and rotating at max speed

-worse dispersion when rotating the turret and after shooting

(take into account the lower global accuracy)

No idea. :/
I'm waiting it too. Maybe as a Gamescom gift.. If WG doesn't win any award, it will probably be sold the same way as the GrossTraktor or kept for next Christmas.. :(

Don't think we've ever had gifts for Gamescom. It's probably the gift for the WG Anniversary, which happens after Gamescom.

True. I checked and the T7cc was gifted for the Golden Joystick.

Last year, there were rumors the GrossTraktor would be given if WG won a Gamescom Award, but they proposed World of Warplanes, so.... Nope.

Wasn't WG anniversary supposed to be last weekend? Or are you talking about WoT anniversary.. :)

The official Anniversary is actually later this month. But they have specials all August, just interrupted by the Gamescom specials. A lot of people thought that the crappy weekend special was the entire Anniversary... nope. Not by a long shot.

Who plays tier 3 anyway? Don't get me wrong, and gift is nice ofc, but I didn't touch my T7, LTP, Pz2D and such for months... play 1-2 rounds once they come in garage and that's it.
