I recently did my Bachelor's Thesis on the mechanisms of armour penetration. The original one was in Finnish, but I translated it to English. I imagined the subject might of interest of the forumers. I've made the Thesis available for download and reading here:

English version:

Original Finnish version:

It might seem a bit math heavy, but you can understand most of the thesis without even looking at the equations. They are there just to add information and support the text.

tl:dr-version from a WoT-player's perspective:

- Sloped armour is more effective in real life than in the game

- Spaced armour is worse than solid plate of equal thickness

- If two plates are on top of each other, it is better to have a space between them if the plates are thin. If the plates are thick, it is better to have them as layered armour.

The English version might have some spelling errors and it might have an odd choice of words here and there.

One question though: Did you choose this topic or did you got it assigned? And if you chose it, then why? :)

In any case, good luck on the colloquium or if the thesis is sufficient, congrats!

I chose it myself. It just seemed an interesting topic, which certainly helped me finish the thesis a lot faster than my peers.
