Hi,

i need some help,

just got a new laptop, its an asus n550jk, its great but theres a problem. the hard drive is making a faint clicking noise when idling, its definetly the hard drive because the click is in time with the access light. the click stops when the hdd is in use. the hdd works fine as well, no crashes etc. it sounds like the ticking of a wristwatch and it happens randomly between 5 and 15 seconds. the only thing i can think of is that the drives are trying to park or something but then are being brought back into use causing the tick (as i said its only noticeable in a quiet room). the laptop is 1 week old now and its showing no signs of hdd failiure.

is it a natural thing for hard drives to do or is it a problem???

thanks

ps i think its a seagate drive but im not sure

pps i ran some disk diagnostics and all passed.
