I am surprised about the number of the hits received and bounces! Never seen a single game with IS-7 having so many ricochets and stuff.

In fact. Frankly, I don't have trouble penetrating IS7s with anything with roughly 220 penetration (tier 9 meds, tier 8 TDs/Heavies). I'm always surprised by how many actually bounce on my front (although the T110 always ruins my mood :D). "Secret" is, keep moving. You can actually see me constantly wiggle left and right, to make the weak spots harder to hit.

Yep I do this with my tanks aswell.
On the IS-7 is hard to hit the little lights on the front if you keep moving, which is the main weakspot after the lower hull (which can be very strong if you angle it).

So is it worth selling the IS-4 to buy the IS-7? Is the armor difference SOOO great and the frontal armor on the IS-7 is x5 times better than on IS-4 like they say?

Well, not that much better. Look at it this way:

IS7 is faster, has better front (well, quite better, but not dramatic) and higher alpha. That's about it.

IS4 is smaller, has an overall better gun, more HP and way better side/rear armour (it can shrug off a lot of lower tiers, while the IS7 can't).

I actually prefer the IS7 despite all of that, but it boils down to play style.

Good replays, especially the Erlenberg one, intense and dramatic defense. I like the way you use terrain to stay hulldown whenever possible.

About the hull wiggling - you seem to "shake" the hull very fast left and right. Are you sure it is the most effective way to do it? I would rather turn a little more and not that sharply - to provoke the enemy to reaim each time you increase a different slope on your front and confuse him even more.

You're about right. If you feel more comfortable doing that way, do so. For me, wiggling fast seemed more effective and somewhat easier. Doing it as you say requires some concentration and timing. Plus, generally, at close range they can just aim for the right part (lower hull when pointed at them, the "cheeks" when angled) rather quickly, they don't need to waste a lot of time. At distance your way works better, I'm sure of that. But, as you saw, I tend to play very "in your face". In my case, I just wiggle left and right randomly (so harder to predict, even for myself) while planning the next move, or looking at the map or so on. Plus, they'll just keep pointing in just one place, usually the lower hull. They are the ones who need to plan ahead and time it right, else they hit the lower hull when angled and bounce. So they need to time it right, which makes they waste a lot of time trying to predict the right time to shoot. I also noticed that generally, it makes the enemy nervous and more prone to making mistakes.

I'd say, try both and see which fits you best.

That's the key sentence of your post. I agree that the sharp fast wiggling is better at the close distance, while deeper turns can confuse the enemy at the longer distance. I will keep it in mind and use that way.

Anyway, if you would have some good replays with IS-7, don't hesitate to post it on the replay section. I'm there regularly.

how to use an IS7.
Have loads with it but they are 7.0 7.1 7.2 replays and do not work. Hence now I upload it to youtube.

Yes and with new patch powning those american tin cans will be even easier, so I will have so much more pleasure from it. :Smile_trollface-3:
Shame that americans were not able to produce single good tank for all those years.

Yeah, when they ran into Panthers they were like "OHMYGODOHMYGOD my Sherman's useless! USELESS! Giff me bigger guns and tanks!" while the russians were like "Meh, when these 10 T-34's are done for we'll send it the next 10 okay Dimitri?".

IS7 is only OP vs German tanks. T110 is much better. The nerf in 0.7. won't change this. IS7 deserves a bit better aimtime for sure.

My good friend T110E5 is not (much) better than the IS-7, not even better.
The IS-7 has got the best frontal armor ingame (check: http://wotarmory.com...tection-report/).
T110 gun is faster, more accurate and more penetrative, but it doesn't have the alpha of IS-7's S-70.
You can take targets out faster with so much alpha (because you need less shots), and you also have better protection.

They are both very good, different roles.

No you can't take targets out faster, because T110 has huge advantage in DPM and actually alpha has always been greatly overrated. 400 is enough, add to this the best aimtime in game and here goes the best T10 tank in game. Aimtime on T110 should get nerfed actually, but WG knows better...
