I started out on the T-34-85 I wondered if I had made somewhat of a mistake as I just didn't enjoy it at all. Slowly learned how to play it and when now enjoying the T-43 even more. Easy to get the upgrades (not bothered with the engine) and I recycled my old crew from the T-34 to get a good performance almost straight away. After 60 games I have a stupidly high win rate of 63% and eff. of 2447 so it can't be that bad!

Yes the gun has a low accuracy, ROF and aiming time and the armour is somewhat weak but it just all seems to work. My only question is do I sell it or the T-34-85 to get the extra credits for the T-44.

you know if you need t-34/85...

but for me T-34/85 was not good, T-43 was nice and T-44 was step back from T-43...
After new gun, engine and fixed ammorack i didn't play T-44 so i don't know how is he now... but bad gun depression and middle placed turret for me are not working...

Bought it today. An elite panzer IV has a better gun than this tank in stock config.
However, it's perfromance is not that bad as it could be, I enjoy playing it... can't wait to equip the D10T, it will be a pretty nice tank with that.
I'm sure the german counterparts are not better than the T-43 (panther, VK3002DB), nor the american T20. The KV-13 has nice armour, but too undergunned for my taste.
Maybe the AMX 13 90 could be a better choice for a tier 7 med (oh well actually it's a light...), that machine gun must be fun.

Using venitilation, rammer and wet ammo rack, + 90% crew.

You can't really compare the Panther (different play style) or AMX (the MM is less 'kind' as it's a light) but I would say it's better than the VK, or at least I enjoy it far more, as the gun on the VK just isn't up to the job. The D10T may be inaccurate with a low ROF but its penetration is what's needed. With the VK you have a gun that, at least I found, can't damage of lot of the tanks it mets so you have no option but to shot for the side or rear. Of course that's what a medium is supposed to do but games just don't always work out like that.

I loved the T34-85, but I'm struggling to like the T-43. Today, in three consecutive matches I was set on fire by a hit from a front- its almost like driving German again. Curiously, each time the culprit was a VK3002, which is beyond mere co-incidence and makes me suspect my ex has started playing WOT and has found a way to follow me. Alas, I didn't save re-plays so I can't prove it.

I still find this a hard tank to play though, even now its upgraded with a 100% crew.

Elite Panthers and 3002DBs sweep the floor with a T-43.

Oh man i love such posts...

T-43 and T-34-85 are not for dueling other meds. They shoot too slow. And their penetration is an overkill for other meds armour.
These two are for damaging heavies.

T-43 is a tank that shoots at Tiger from 400m and punches through dealing over 200 dmg. T-43 is a tank that peeks around the corner and deals 200 dmg to E-75's side. No dinging. No dealing unnoticeable amount of damage.
T-43 is finally a tank that gets roflstomped if it meets Vk DB or Panther and gets severly damaged by E8.

Yep, t-43 is a sniper/spotter, mount bino/camo and hide.

You can't afford to take even a sigle hit, is like you have a ammo rack out on the front of the tank and pilot/gunner/loader taped over it.
Ammo and fuel are all over the tank, you "are" a weakspot.

i find the top 85mm makes this into a very fragile multirole tanks, somewhat lacking in the penetration department, but able to help in any battle, although totally unable to solo kill anything above tier 5 other than itself and the t 34-85. however it's great if you want to go into a battle and then pair off with basically any higher tier tank and support them, it also makes you somewhat more capable at brawling with similar tier mediums. however in the end i must concede the 100mm is simply better for this tank.

Gotta admit I played this one wrong after skipping it during beta. Absolutely hated it when I tried playing it like I played the 34-85. But when I recently got back to it to finally grind a T-44, I got myself 2 top gun and 1 confederate medal, got my winrate from 52 to 55% and had my average exp per match go from 590ish to 640. I don't know what I changed about the playing style, but taking a break from this thing apparently worked out really well.

Rammer/Binocs/Camo net is definitely advisable if you have the credits to spend.

I also skipped it in Beta so was pleasantly surprised how it played, just finished the grind to T44 100 battled with a 66% WR the MM seems to like this tank, have been top tier more than any of the other tanks I've played.

DM

EDIT used Camo Net, Binos as modules and repair as Skill on all crew.

Took me around 90 and ended up with a 61% win rate. Certainly did seem like the MM was nice to it ...

Well, I hope that with the final engine it will be better (but it won't... only 7.7% more power) because currently, when I try to flank a heavy (as i was used to do with KV-13) it's the heavy that flanks me, since they are more agile.

Haven't got an ammorack explosion yet after 30 battles anyway, and i don't have wet ammorack equipment.
