It was a fun (read:  often frustrating, but once done eminently satisfying) build.  Looks totally badass completed, too.  Just gotta be careful with that PE stuff, putting all those hinges together (every hinge on the tow cables is three separate parts) and the gun-cleaning kit (21 parts) was a total bastard. Really does come out nice though.  I also used the rubber tracks rather than the stitch-together links, I didn't need that much extra crazy in my life :)

Nice one - it definitely adds to the liking of the tank when you build one physically :)

The kit is from Trumpeter, the PE stuff from Voyager.  Here's an unboxing of the Trumpeter kit.

Thanks, everyone, your support and your votes are very much appreciated!  :)

Nah, she gets her own boards, I bought a few different sizes of it cheap at TK Maxx to use as bases for models.  I've been contemplating doing a Wolverine + Hellcat diorama with some crew on a large one, just gotta figure out where it'll live when it's done.  But first gotta get the Enterprise built!

And yeah, the pines are a little tightly-packed for their size relative to the model, so they come out looking a little bit smallish scale.  The alternative was too sparse, and they wouldn't have looked as good.  With these I figured they could be small firs, I've seen some really dense conifers in the wilds here in Germany, so they'd fit in.  I also didn't want to go so big as to over-obscure the model itself.

A nicely built model. Kudos! :) It is 1:72 I suppose?

But it is too new and clean for my taste.

Unless you are going for that look. Then ignore the follwoing. ;)
First of all I would work all of the edges with some light gray with dry brushing to make it look like paint chipped off there. Secondly, add a washing with some light brown to all flat areas to give it a more dusty apperearance.
And then thirdly, make a washing with a dark color and apply it to all depressions. That gives the model more depth.

Anyway, have fun with your addiction and show us MORE. :D

It's actually a 1:35 - some of the weathering doesn't show up so well in this photo, but there's a set here that might show off a little better.

Meanwhile, thanks all for the continued feedback and your votes!  We're in the lead, the nuclear cockroach continues to power towards the victory line!
