At last it has been proven what we all know, men who harass women are quite literally losers. Here’s a research finding that should surprise no one: The men most likely to harass women online … are the men most likely to have their own problems. That bit of validation comes courtesy Michael Kasumovic and Jeffrey Kuznekoff, researchers at the University of New South Wales and Miami University, respectively. For their latest study, published in the journal PLOS One last week, the duo watched how men treated women during 163 plays of the video game Halo 3.

Read all about it:

A chart from the Halo study that shows how nice male gamers were to other males (dotted line) and females (solid line) during gameplay. Men always treat each other about the same. But the better a player gets, the more likely he is to be nice to ladies. (Kasumovic et al)

yo sup OP?

Looks like you came to the wrong forum. this forum is mainly for sensible people, no stupid feminists (pleonasm?) allowed.

If guys make elogious comments about a woman, it's almost exclusively because they're interested... so regardless of the language used, the guys in question still wants to fùck her and that's very likely to be the only reason he speaks to her. because I don't see any reason why a skilled player would suddenly want a friendly chat with a girl in the middle of a game in an FPS.... unless it's to compliment on her good handling of the combat knife, which is in reality a sarcastic metaphor to tell her to go back to the kitchen...

That, exactly. And sometimes it works.

"Hey ! I got va.gina !" is a magic sentence that can unlock any door in the computer world. For obvious reasons.

Yes, lets pick a game like Halo 3 which is filled to the brim with people who are known for their good manners.....This makes whatever "research" that was done totally not biased and we should totally go along with this 100%.

In fact I will now go and chop my [edited]off and rename myself tacticalJenn3r, just so that I can feel the hardship and pain that females have while they are online.
