OK - I went for Windows 10 <ducks> all is fine, apart from the fact that after about 8-10 seconds the keyboard stops repeating.  So, in Word, I press down the all important W key, it repeats for 168 characters (at repeat rate set to fastest in keyboard options) then stops.  The PC gives a beep.

Of course this causes issue when playing WoT.

The keyboard is a bog standard MS USB one.

Nothing online like this can be found ,ducks again as someone finds something in 10 seconds> any ideas?

I think if its not a WoT related problem then you are wrong here, try the MS forum or other Win10 related forums.

What's the opposite of sticky keys? I swear there is one.

Is the older keyboard USB or PS/2?

Yep - I know that, that's why it is the "Off Topic" forum :) Alas, Windows 10 forums are a bit bust at present, and I'm not sure they'd appreciated the grave nature of such an issue, where as the people here would understand how dreadful this is..

They are both USB - the non-working one was out of the box earlier this year - whilst the working one is about 8 years old!

I've looked at Sticky Keys and it doesn't appear to be that - my guess is some sort of buffer overflow.

Well, I have very little experience with Windows 10 - two hours on a crippled machine I threw together out of old parts, just to test Win10 :P

So, what's wrong with the older keyboard? Being 8 years old, you might want to consider taking off the keycaps and giving it a good clean.

The older keyboard works fine (it has been in a draw for most of its life) it is the newer one that stops repeating

Find drivers from the producer, and update them. Solved my issue with my Madcatz RAT 5 bugging up after "upgrading" to windows 10 enterprise from windows 7 enterprise...

I've upgraded to Windows 10 Home with my Steelseries Apex M800, no issues here. Do you have another computer running a different OS that you can test the newer keyboard with?

What would I possibly need Pro or Enterprise for? I have a potato with 4GB RAM and the most IT nerdy thing I use my PC for is defragging :D

Encryption? Not my cup of tea. Got nothing I need to hide on my PC, and it would take hours to encrypt my slow old hard drive. And I can get software for virtual machines, although I'm not a massive fan of using them anyway.

The brits have never cared much for privacy. In the rest of EU though, privacy is sacred. Especially in Germany and the Scandinavian countries...
