Tried the single-shot gun once. Crap it is. The problem is not so much DPM but shell velocity. Because the shells fly so damn slowly, SPIC must be played at close ranges. This is where the autoloader comes in. SPIC is a mediocre scout at best, but damage dealing with the autoloader works OK-ish when you're less than 100 meters from your opponent. Better yet, circle slower enemies. I've soloed many enemies who require more than one clip to finish. Reload is quick enough that more enemies may not get there in time to help your pray. I'm currently 60% through my grind and DPG is rising steadily; currently my total avg is around 1600 DPG.
I find the SP1C quite a decent scout, very stealthy with full camo setup (better than 57F), 500m v/r with vents, optics, food & crew skills (BIA, recon & SA), just the mobility is lacking, but this gets much better with driver perks.
Gun handling can be cured with vstabs, snap shot & smooth ride.
For me it's more of a sneaky, stealthy, passive ambusher & I like it the more I play it.
