New nation: Czechoslovakia?!

Yes really famous tank nation with rich military history... I'm looking forward to more tanks that never existed and new versions of ISU, T34-85 and T54.

You should also try with Yugoslavia, Poland and Ukraine. Or maybe to build some space maps with new Klingon nation...

"we will announce more details in the future"

"it is still too early to give any more substantial information"

"this idea still requires more examination and research"

"cannot give any estimates yet in regard to when"

"no decisions have been made on the subject yet"

"this will not happen in the near future"

"we are not able to provide an estimation when"

What is the point of making Q&A session, when there are only Q but no real A in it? You could just say "In version 9.12, we plan to introduce a new nation: Czechoslovakia." and save readers time.

I would have appreciated more, if the focus was set on the development of Japanese and Chinese tech trees, instead of introducing an entirely new CZ line. Yeah sure, they have gorgeous girls and amazing beer, but tanks and engineering...not really.

Well, actually.... Czechoslovakia was in the early thirties the largest military exporter in the world and pre-war tanks superior to Germany :)

But you never really hear of the military force of the Czechs. And nearly all of their tanks bar the 35 and 38t are unknown

Really? Perhaps that's because you're not listening? :)

We had very large forces in the east and west both. But it is true, the postwar designs are not well known. Good thing that perhaps WoT will change that :)

I understand the industrial power of Czechoslovakia at the time, but due to the Nazi occupation, the tanks that were produced were German, instead of Czech. It was the lack of Czech independence from the Nazis that reduced their fame. Of course this is from a British point of view, no doubt the Czech armed forces are more well known in the ex-Czechoslovakian areas, but there is little literature (in English) of Czech tank design (which was independent of German plans), compared with the more major nations.

As to post war, that's extremely less popular when compared with wartime tanks, many people can point out and name five wartime tanks, but will be stumped when you show them a Conqueror.

Exactly :) It was our tanks in German hands that steamrolled the Polish, the French and the Brits in France.

That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation. The panzer divisions were equipped with a mixture of the Czech and german tanks, and the tank comparisons were not as in the favour of the Germans, but it was the blitzkreig tactics, poor allied leadership and air superiority that led them to victory.

Its a case of the Germans used Czech tanks while they swept across Western Europe and not the german driven Czech tanks swept across Europe. The 38t was a good chassis that was reused by the Germans, but as soon as these tanks were are obsolete there were no Czech replacements, but there were replacents for the German panzers.

So basically. No new information. "Everything is being worked on". Why choose questions we get answers to every week at Rita's blog?

Mostly good news but new nation Czechoslovakia !

Now nothing against such a line they did have many fine tanks that mostly ended up forming the bulk of German tank forces in the early 40s.

There is another country that deserves recognition as well and its always annoyed me they are not included.

Italy
