How to limit the "milking of Industrial Resources".

Under the current stronghold system, as soon as a clan develops a Command center V, they can get attacked by Command center X clans. More often than not, they will be. Not by clans with players of equal skill or slightly above. But by top clans with players who are extremely skilled. With such a huge gap between player skill it is highly unlikely that the (below) average player will take anything positive from such fights. Because even if they have a strategy and change it from fight to fight, they wont recognize if they made an improvement, as the unicums just keep pummeling them. 


By changing the system so clans can only declare war on equal or higher level Command center clans. You can broaden the risk/reward spectrum and avoid the "average joe" clans from hitting a brick wall learning curve at Command center V. Instead you give them a choice to, for the most part, fight against slightly better players, in matches where they actually stand a chance to win and have time to develop a sound strategy, team play and individual player skills gradually.


For a lot of clans, the current system gives them two choices; exclude yourself from parts of the game or get farmed by opponents who are so superior that each fight will almost make you feel violated. Since it is part of human nature to take the path of least resistance, the top clans will keep milking the teet of "free" industrial resources even though it does not involve any kind of challenge until the average clans get so demotivated that they stop playing, or the unicums, except those few deviants who enjoy kicking puppies, get so mind-numbingly bored that they quit.

Basing it on tier of stronghold is [edited]imo. A lot of clans have tier 10 strongholds but are nowhere near as strong as the elite clans.

Most of us solve thise by putting our defences on early mornings to avoid getting attacked altogether, but then there are retard nolifers every once in a while who decide to be up until 4 in the morning to make an attack anyway.

 

I would say base it on Elo instead, if you are attacked by a clan with more than 100 elo above your own you should only lose 20% of the usual amount.

so give bonus to everyone without boxes so everyone can have them...

Give everyone the Champions league rewards even if they are not playing there.

If you upgrade your stronghold to t10 you willingly step outside of the kiddie pool and into the big guy pool, setting the defense period to that late in the night is only gaming the system.

What you are complaining about is the same as complaining that the top clans are holding too much land on the CW map. It's a competition, it's an incentive for the better clans to get involved in teamplay and keep them playing the game that way while giving more casual clans a taste of the rewards and a means to improve. If you want something better than t4 SH rewards you'd better be able to fight for it.

 

Besides, if any clan could just farm skirmishes for 50% credit boosts safely, what would even be the point of joining a better clan? The global map has already been made casual and non-rewarding and campaigns are only twice a year. That leaves SH and ESL as the only real rewarding top end game modes.

No top clan will attack your t5/6/7 stronghold unless one of your members annoyed the wrong guy in a random game.

 

If you get above that then you become fair game. You want the big rewards that come with a higher stronghold then you have to fight for them. Simple as that, it is a competitive game.

That is something many players cant grip..
The better you are, the better the rewards. You can't win the WorldChampionship if you are mediocre (I do realise this is just a game, but if you make it as avg as it can be, any competitive flavor will just dissapear..)
