Your verification of 'Little Willie' as tank name has been confirmed to be correct.

2015-09-17 09:59:34

Your verification of 'Britain' as nationality has been confirmed to be wrong.

2015-09-17 09:54:31

Your verification of 'World War 1' as era has been confirmed to be correct.

so it's correct that it was the "Little Willie", a prototype which was build in Britain. But it states that Britain as the nationality is wrong..

So did I miss something or is this a bug/error?

I've had simmilar problems, hopefully it's an intended feature that is just giving you te same text for everything so it may seem incorect.

WG should explain a bit how it works, maybe then we'd understand better.

I'm not sure if the identification/verification is completely community driven (e.g. by majority of votes; similar to reCAPTCHA and the like) or if there are actual experts involved for the yet to identify images.

Just had the case where my answer to a verified image was counted as wrong even though imho it should have been correct :/

Spoiler

So in case such false data is in their database, will we just have to hope it auto-corrects over time or should we actively report it to them?

Really? I identified an M1 Abrams as COLD WAR, and i got WRONG. Abrams is 1981 and cold war ended 1989.

I repeatedly identified Medium Mark II, and got WRONG, because you keep telling is a Medium Mark I.

You got me a photo of an Hochkiss H35 and the name wasn't on the list to identify it.

Please fix it, it is unplayable like this !!

M103A2 - the period should be cold war since it was created in 1964 and removed from service in 1974. I have no idea what is this website 'correct' period but it is INCORRECT.

Firefly, is it British or American ?

Personally I'd say British but in the archive it's American

Same goes for any Sherman based "tank", including Ram based.  In fact 90% of the countries aren't used.

I just had a Ram come up asking if it was Canadian to which I said yes and it was correct, it's such a strange system, keep getting an image of a M3A3 Stuart it even tells you it's an M3A3 in the picture but if you say no to it being a M5 Stuart it comes out as wrong answer

Yeah, a lot of mistakes. The game misidentifies a Panther as a 'G' variant when it's clearly not etc

The Ram is a Canadian design, not simply a licenced Sherman, even it was heavily inspired/copied from the Sherman. But there are other inconsistencies. A British gun on a US tank, remains a US tank, e.g. the Firefly. But a German gun on a French tank becomes a German tank, e.g. the Lorraine Schlepper it seems.

Yeah, what to do with wrong identifications, which are already there?

You get the question: Is it Centurion Mark I ?

When I say NO

it just says I am wrong.

But there is no way how to put in another option. Eg. if I say NO, it would be nice to add another name.

Like:  Enter alternate name:  Centurion MkIII

Then someone else would get two options:

Is it Centurion MkI or

Centurion MkIII

to verify.

(I am not sure its MarkIII, I just know it definitely isn't Mark I )

I just got a Vickers Medium Mk. 2. I'm pretty sure it is.

When the interface proposed Medium Mk. 1, I said no (I checked online a bit before to be sure). It then said i'm wrong, but this doesn't seem like a Mk 1.

Got a picture of a "Jeep" and I identified it as Second World War (correct) and US (correct).  It then asked if it was a Hotchkill M201 jeep.  I said no and it said "Wrong".  The Hotchkill M201 jeep was not built until 1954!  Interestingly the picture is a rather well known one taken from the North Africa campaign and used by British special forces.
