In the game you will be often prompted with a corresponding tank name matching to a picture.

At the moment it does not seem to be possible to suggest the correct tank name, when the given tank name turns out to be incorrect.

In this thread you can upload the images from Hidden Archive and give a name suggestion that in your opinion is correct.

let me start first:

description by Hidden Archives: Morrics C8 (wrong)

Ford CMP.jpg

correct name: Ford CMP FAT (field artillery tractor)

Well i have a different problem, the image had a KV-2 and when asked to choose the tank name from the list...there was not an option to chose a KV-2. So i instead chose the KV-1, but it was still wrong! Now, the T-49 american light appears, and again, nothing on the list to choose the tank! So, since the tank is a variation of the M41 Bulldog, i chose it, again, it was wrong! Why do they say to pick from the list and the tank is not even there? Its just plain stupid!

The problem you describe is a common problem people have here at the moment. Please follow this thread and see if your discovered tank is listed yet: http://forum.worldof...ing-tank-names/

Please do not tag a tank with an incorrect type name.

T14 Assault Tank isn't marked as T14 Assault Tank

OK, well the latest updates/changes have not solved all of the tank ID problems.  Last night I had the Holt Tractor, the correct description has now been added to the vehicle list, I selected it only to be told it's incorrect.   So WG, what's the plan to correct the inaccurate descriptions - I'm sure there are countless others?

There's a Sherman Firefly identified as American. The 'game' identifies it also as a Sherman Firefly, but the it's a british tank and the photo shows british crew (berrets and not helmets).

There's also some Czech tanks identified as German, and APC / Armoured cars / SPG identified as 'tanks'.

These were found during the verification phase.. for archiving this is crazy inaccurate. Felt like I should make a note of this somewhere.

There's a lack of cohesion as to where tanks of mixed origin lie. The Lorraine with a German 150mm gun is considered German apparently. Personally I'd consider the Firefly to be American, given the vast majority of it is of US origin. Some official guidance would be welcome.

And everything is called a tank, even the picture of a flight of stairs and the Bovington museums dustbin.

One of the tanks is named "M6 Staghound". this is wrong, it is either a T17 (USA prototype) or a Staghound (UK service version). If the Americans would have used it it might have been called an M6. But Never a M6 Staghound, just like the US didnt call their tanks M4A4 Sherman.

I've just been told I'm wrong for suggesting a Cromwell is British...

We need a mechanism to contest or flag wrong entries like that.

Listed as an M3 Lee, it's an M3 Lee CDL.

Multiple Centurion Mark 3s are listed as "World War 2 | Centurion Mark 1"

They also have a picture of a Japanese Type 94 Tankette and it's not on the list of tanknames that you can pick. I also had a few occasions during the short test where I was pretty damn sure  that I picked the correct option and it was wrong..and the short test was really easy for me....This game is bugged. :(

Also the M10 with 17pdr is considered 'American'. And I just saw a picture of a Stuart tank with M3A3 Stuart V chalked on the hull and the Quiz asked if it was a M3A1 Stuart III ! :)

And this is a Matilda Baron, a name which is not on the list.

Hello

I agree with USERTMP; the M3 is a M3 grant CDL (Canal Defense Light) designed to give light around Belgian canals in 1944. They bore a dummy gun but were ultimately never used.

Similarily, I got wrong answers for Centurions Mk 3s tagged as Mk 1, and also with the era. They entered service in november 1945 so WW2 was over.

As for nationalities, it seems the original builder is waited for, as LRDG jeeps are supposed to be US when they are British-used. And they suggest a Hotchkiss Jeep when they had only Willys.

The Pz 4 is often wrongly tagged and the Panzerbeobachtungswagen III is tagged as Pz III Ausf L...

And the M20 scout car is tagged as M8 Greyhound.

Oh, yeah, and I also met M3A3 Stuarts which I had to call M3 A1, like Pantserbeest ;)

I have more, but it would be long.

Something needs to be done to allow us to suggest other names.

Otherwise, it's fun :)
