Not sure how the draw distance can be classed as remaining "generally the same" on the corner angles as it's 20% reduced.... (564/700*100). 20%

 

It's gonna be weird at first but makes sense. I might have favored a bigger all round distance but not too sure.

It is a good change but the draw range is still too small. The draw range should ideally be the whole map. It doesn't make sense that you can't see what is spotted.

The visual explanation is nice... but am I understanding this correct? - Maximum view range = increased to 574m, maximum draw distance = decreased to 574m?

i think it would be more fair if it was increased to 600m as at 564M it is not much higher then the max spoting so the missions where the tank needs to remain un spoted are more difficult to do

It has to be smaller than the map to keep things consistent because in reality, view range could be up to several Km. I believe the record kill distance in WW2 was 4.6Km which is obviously way out of scope of the way WoT works. (I think a Nashorn killing a JS2). Huge maps would be interesting but I think would probably slow the game down way too much for the average player.

 

Thanks WG for the clear explanation. It's interesting that we can currently see further at 45 degrees than straight in front.

 

A future upgrade to make spotting range dependent on the direction the commander is looking would be interesting i.e. further in the direction the tank/turret is pointing and much less behind.

1.000m x 1.000m is 1.000.000m² oder 1km²

 

 

with 1.000m² you have a Distance to all side's from 50m!!!

i still think the old one is better because now you even have a shorter max draw distance because how many times are you straight on i mean the map is nevver like lll mostly it is like this /// so you have a shorter distance so i still think that you need to make a mod or somehing other that it wil render 1000M so the hole map.

we are getting in the time that PC's can handle that and it will not affect the game to much if you also do like til 400 meters max graphics (if you want that!) and that after that there is always min frames

well done WG  you will decrese render distane but  SPGs can still see every spoted tank well designed must say
