Both of course but which ones do you save to last?

Tough call. Not sure myself either. If I had a penny though, I always got a Bazooka Joe anyway rather than two chews that lasted a few moments.

Fruit salads only, i can't stand black jacks, (although i sometimes ate them when i was much younger but then went right off them, but don't remember why)

Blackjacks? Those liquorice monstrosities? I wouldn't eat them with your tongue. Fruit salads are all right, but Refreshers ftw. Or Cola Cubes for when you had a spare 10p for a quarter.

In my day, I can't recall Mojo's being for sale. Black Jacks and Fruit Salads were 4 for a penny. Then they went up to 2 a penny and Bazooka Joes were a whole penny.

I lived by a railway line as a kid so I used to go 'stretch' pennies and use them on the tuppence machines outside the shops. If you stuck them in at the right angle, you could fool it into giving up it's more expensive chews/sweets/gum. Other cheats were push outs from electrical pattresses. Same size as a shilling/5p coin. The stuff you get for 5 pence. Happy times.....

They used to be four to a penny at one stage..... apparently. Thats why they were kids' favourites - the most sweets you could get for the least amount of cash.
