How people can play this play this pos for so long escapes me, I had to punish my Black Prince crew (tried with a 75% crew originally, but hell no) to grind out for the CGC. The kick in the groin was I was grinding out the British M3 Grant at the same time, it almost killed me.

Churchill I works in randoms if you know how to make it work. I'm not saying it's a keeper, but it's comfortable enough of a grind, even if you're eliting it (researching the Church GC too)

Want to get a blood clot on your brain? Play the AT8, or the Challenger. You'll be happy once you're back in the Churchill I. Oh and BP needs a DPM buff, i think it's the worst tank in the line.

Didn't mind the AT8 struggled with the AT2 but I may go back to it. Played like a blob.

Anyway just picked the Churchill 1 up. Oh boy it's as bad as I expected it to be, or maybe worse actually. My gut tells me it needs some help from the buff hand but I cant see it happening. Well done to those that have actually made this work. Even moreso those that have 3 marked it.

It's such an arty magnet its unreal.

EDIT
OMG it's utter garbage!!! Far too easy for arty now. Arty is OP is f*** but this is just a target practice tank for them

Any tips guys?

Struggling with this. Cant side scrape and obviously cant brawl. Everything just seems to butter it.

I have been too hasty. While it certainly remains an arty magnet it's a pretty decent tank when fully upgraded.

1ST Mark achieved in 45 battles. Currently have a combined average of just over 800.

need to decide whether i keep plugging away or move up the tech tree. I'm not hugely looking forward to the Churchill VII and the Black Prince in particular.

new update.

Approaching 2nd mark now. I hate arty

A couple questions for you Churchill experts. I hate arty

1) How do you decide where to go to maximise your damage?

2) How do you change this mid battle when things haven't worked out?

3) What do you do when there's an obvious flank to go to yet your team lemming trains in the other direction?

Did I mention I hate arty?

basically because of the low mobility you have to choose your locations wisely. Sometimes that doesn't work out and you need to change

What equipment do you guys run on it? Vents, GR, GLD?

And which gun do you use? Cant decide between QF 6-pdr Gun Mk. V and the 75 mm Vickers HV (basically toss up between ROF vs pen & alpha).

Thx

I'd go for the 6pdr. You can shred opponents with it. You're usually in face to face battle, not sniping, when DPR really comes into play.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try that out then. And equipment as I suggested? Vents, GR, GLD?

Rammer, vents, binos. No need for gld, aimtime is good and you reach max viewrange. Good for the times you know you can't keep up with the lemmings and decide to defend the base from the enemy horde bound to appear from the other flank.

Another benefit with the 6 pounder is 9 degrees of depression (vs 4 on the top gun).

Thx for the feedback! But why Binocs in stead of Optics? The Binocs would be useful if I do decide to camp defend base and stay stationary, but the other would be better for either (defend or assault) right?

I'm nearly there. 94% when I left it yesterday.

I've been using the top gun as I believe in penetration over everything to be honest but I see others are recommending the 6 pounder here. Might try it. Definitely need to boost my view range though that so I will try that
