Anyone running WoT on a laptop with an eGPU (external GPU)? Looking into a nice DIY project to boost performance on my Intel 4000 gfx based laptop.

That is quite easy.

Find a heavy rock, bind it to your computer, find a deep enough pool of water, throw the rock/laptop in it, buy a new one that is actually made for gaming.

Seriously, you are looking at a 400€ price tag at best, and that is assuming you don't mess up. It also means you are using 1 pci-e line instead of 16, and inserting video lag.

Wouldn't you get a better solution by selling your laptop and buying another one ?

Then try it.

Sounds to me like something some nerd would do then brag about his extra 0.1% frames per second.

I'd just buy a proper PC and use the work laptop for .... ummm .... work (that last bit is a lie).

Not really.. 60% performance increase is apparently totally feasible. I'd take that. But the thing is Windows 10 doesnt seem to be supported yet and i have no intention to downgrade to Windows 7 just to test this. The device itself only costs about 50€ + existing video card + power brick. So it's not very expensive.

Or i might just "accidentally" drop my lappie and request a new one with a better GPU.. Decisions.. deciscions..
