Some years ago I played a game called Codename: Panzers (Phase One and Two, there are two games). It seems quite unknown, which is a shame, because I think it is a real gem, allowing fairly deep tactical warfare. Strictly speaking it is not just about tanks, but they do play a fairly major role. Especially Germans early on will have few and poor tanks (mainly PzKw I and II, which are quite bad), making things like field cannons much more important at that stage. Worth checking out, regardless!

And from rumors:  the old Team from M1 Tank Platoon is making a new Game called M4 Tank Platoon.

BTW:  If someone want to take a ride in a Leo or M1 in Steelbeasts Pro PE, feel free to send me a PM.

Panzer Elite Action has nothing with Panzer Elite : Special Edition by except few words in the name of the tittle ...PE:SE it is the most realistic simulator of II WW tanks so far. World of Tanks has a few important elements from this game...

Between those titles - Panzer Elite Action and Panzer Elite : Special Edition - is a huge difference in realism - like a between Leichttractor and Mause :D in frontal armour ..

---

As far I remember - I'v played in another good simulator - I'M1A2 Abrams - excellent game with good tactics elements (U could manage not only a single tank or platoon of tanks,  but U could give an orders whole company of tanks , close combat viehicles like Bradleys or Humevees with AT and AAA rockets, and manage Air Support - A10 Thunderbolt II or Ah-64 Apache and Artillery strike like 150mm Palladins, MLRS..etc ). U could fight against newest russian/iranian/yougoslavian MBT's like T-95, T-90, older T-80U ,T-72m, T-60..etc, etc...Realy great game with good physics - but hmmmm she has poor graphics (if we are traying compare this game to present standard of graphics like a WoT for example )..Nerveless - this game had a great climate of modern warfare tank combat.

Armored Fist 2, 3 released by Novalogic - was something between a shooter and simulator. You could also manage a tank platoons, called artillery strikes, and call air support. Great game :). Some of the  missions where really hard to play :D

Oh ok, i'm sorry for the confusion eheh.
the problem is that those game are too old for what i'm looking for, but thanks anyway for trying.

Cheers.

Thanks anyway.

I know one game, but I'm not shure if it's a ''tank game'' It seems more like a stratedic (okay, not good in english) game. But it was also possible to control individual tanks. It is the Achtung panzer!:Khrakov 1943. Chek it out :Smile_honoring:

That game actually seems cool, i might make an exception for this RTS http://forum.worldof...ile_blinky.gif.

Thanks.

Edit: saw the entire video and realized it was too much RTS for what i'm looking for, sorry for the mess http://forum.worldof...teethhappy.gif.

M1 TANK PLATOON 2. This game falls on the realism side. The AI was pretty decent. Had over 70 vehicles. Even the helicopters acted intelligent. Hiding behind hills and such. They have decent campaigns. Gulf War II, North Africa, Russian Far East, the Balkans and Central Europe. here is a review of it if interested. It got an 8.2 out of 10.

Why is everyone submitting old as hell games http://forum.worldof...teethhappy.gif? I really appreciate the help, but i was going for something a little bit more modern (and with multiplayer if possible).

Anyway, thanks for the replies everyone.

It is out in Russia and will be out in 2 Weeks in Germany. Very good game, not so much for the MMO lovers, but for all simulation fans. Its turn-based Strategy AND Full-Scale Tank Simulation AND Realtime Tactics.

The best tank game, as every father of a son might know, just needs a cardboard box and some creativity.

They also double up as pirate ships and racing cars :)

Tank Ace looked very interesting indeed. Unfortunately, it's only playable if you're in north america, because otherwise you'll suffer from terrible, terrible lag.

Suffer from lag? My eyes suffered from the graphics, it just doesn't do it for me. Tank Ace looks like playstation one low end graphics. It plays ok, to a point, but after a while these big blobby sprite explosions and Damage numbers just make it seem.....old! There just doesn't seem to be anything else out there right now that can compare to WoT graphically, even Steel Beast Pro looks dated by comparison.

Nope, at the moment the closest would be the old panzer elite action, which is ok, but limited and very arcady, but otherwise I can't think of any current game that has comparable tank action. Yeah, sure RO2 is pretty good but still limited, hmmmm, nothing else except for BF2/BF3 tank battles look good these days! And even those have their negative aspects too, like just getting a tank!

To be honest graphics don't have too much to say. I even played a game wich had a fixed 800x600 resolution (Heroes in the Sky), so i ran it windowed. But boy it is fun. Also like Uncharted Waters Online, has bad graphics but is actualy fun to play.

I look forward to try Tank Ace, i like those options to add armor on like the Pz4 :D

Btw, anyone Remembers Spearhead? Those where also good tank games.
