So i just happened to stumble upon the full "Tali-Ihantala 1944" movie on youtube and ended up rewatching the entire thing. Didn't find a topic like this with a quick search so i decided to open one as i wanted to share this with you guys. Now i'm wondering what other war/tank movies i could watch next? Please share any movies you know that fit the description, documentaries are also welcome.

Here is the summary of the movie (taken from IMDB):

The Soviet army breaks through the Finnish defences on the Karelian Isthmus in June 1944, advancing with overwhelming force. Somehow, the Finnish troops must find the strength to fight back, with all odds against them. The Battle of Tali-Ihantala was the largest battle ever fought in the history of the Nordic countries. This film depicts the true events through five separate stories.

Equipment seen in the movie include T-34/85 (called Sotka by finns) tanks that did see actual combat during the war and replica tanks like KV-1 and StuG III (there are only a few working StuGs left so they had to use replicas but i remember someone saying that one of the actual StuGs that are still working did make an appearance in the movie but i can't confirm this). There is also an replica Focke-Wulf FW 190 painted in the colors of the german ace pilot, Erich Rudorffers plane.

Not the best movie out there but i recommend it to anyone interested in tanks or war movies in general. Now tell me what to watch next (can be any language but subtitles are appreciated) :)

Full movie with subtitles here:

Das Boot (un-cut version). Amazing, if not the best war movie ever made.

Can't argue with that! I really should go out and see if it's available somewhere :)

The 1959 German film "Hunde, wollt ihr ewig leben?" (Dogs, do you want to live for ever?) is well worth a watch if you speak German. It's available on YouTube.
