French Medium Tank ARL-44

It seems that we have a picture of a french medium tank: ARL-44.I took it from Overlod's blog with the ..."celebration" of 2.000.000 views of his blog and bla bla bla bla...anyway...this tanks look nice and have a nice armor for a medium tank:

Weight:50 metric tons

Armor:120 mm

Main armament:90 mm DCA45

Speed:35.75 km/h

that it's in fact a heavy  which could explain the gun and armor....:Smile-hiding:

Unless it is nerfed, that front armour should bounce shells.

Easy to see the influence of the Henschel turret, which is a pretty good thing.

I also love the huge frontal glacis plate with a small lower glacis plate, and the tracks popping out a bit, limiting those angled shots to the front.
Now,to get more info about the gun it's slinging...

If so, Overlord made a mistake, it is a heavy tank and it is in the heavy line in the tree.
But 120mm of armor at tier 6 is really OP, it would rather be fine at tier 7 at least ...

37.25 km/h max on road to be precise.  ^_^

Well I never found any clear values, on the technical notice it's say that the 90mm SA45 pierced 200mm at 1000m (without any mention of the slope nor of the shell used).
While here (pages 103 to 106 and page 108) they are comparing the penetration of the SA45's APs to the HVAP of the 75mm KwK42 L/70.

There's also a mention of a planned tungsten core shell which should have pierced 170mm/0° @ 1000m.

It may well have thick armour, but it looks very easy to track. 120mm of armour on the front is no use to anyone when the hull can't be rotated.

Essentially just a highly modified Char B1, with a knockoff of the Henschel turret, minus the dovetailed welds, so it'll break up easier.

Its heavy tank in the planned tech tree. Tier 6 heavy to be precise....yes, tiger just got owned.

THe medium tree for frenchies consist of 7 light tanks (light tank lvl7 AMX-13) and 2 med tanks :D

why would you mount equipment, needed to keep the tank ready for battle, on the front armour plate?
I think someone didn't think this one through ^^

...

Those are tools to get the tank out of a ditch or a mud pile or a swamp.

Might me the only French tank I don't find funny looking.

Still only a matter of who is looking.  ;)
