Greetings Commanders!

On Monday, January 18th we intend to remove the reputation system and replace it with a new system for showing your appreciation of helpful or insightful forum posts.

This new system allows you to show you “Like” a post, similar to the system currently in place for online services such as Facebook or Twitter. Just like with those places, you will be unable to show you do not like a post and will instead need to convey your disagreement by writing your own constructive reply to the thread. Though it sounds similar to just allowing only positive reputation, there are two further aspects to the new system that make it different:

  • When you Like a post, other forum users will be able to see that you have liked it, and indeed everyone who has clicked Like on a post.
  • The amount of Likes received by a player will no longer be counted or shown in their profile (and the existing reputation count will no longer appear).

In addition to this new system, to further accentuate forum posts that a lot of players like, we are adjusting the requirements for a post to receive the “Popular” icon. In the previous system a post required 50 up-votes to acquire the icon, but with the new system a post will only require 25 Likes. Furthermore, you will be able to Like up to 15 posts a day, up from the 5 up-votes you can currently award. We will continue to monitor this after implementation and may make tweaks if necessary.

Whether you take notice of forum reputation or ignore it, in some cases the “vote down” functionality of previous system was being abused, leading to some unfortunate consequences – including sometimes making the forum not feel as welcoming to players that would otherwise benefit from making use of it. Also for some it could lead to an unintended fixation on player reputation rather than a focus being on the actual content of forum posts.

Player feedback is very important to us and even with the dramatic growth of player presence on places like Facebook in particular, the forums still remain a strong source of player feedback for us. Because of this we felt that keeping the forums as welcoming as possible, as well as maintaining a focus on the actual post content, was important going forward.

Well at least you care more about the abuse of the forum system than of the abuse from ingame reports

In honor to the new system: *like*

Yes, removing those thousands neg reps of almost every WG staff member or post is one form of feedback to player´s feedback

The issue regarding Unsportsmanlike Conduct has been replied to by myself in various topics already on the forum. This is something that our Customer Support team are dealing with. We have passed on our feedback from the forums and continue to do so weekly/daily. Passing on those concerns however is not something which we can guarantee will result in immediate action.   Regarding claims of rigging the T22sr missions this has also been addressed on the forums by myself today. Making changes to the forums has nothing to do with either of those categories nor does it take any time or focus away from them.

The "Community" account has a negative value. That's an automated account that simply cross posts the portal articles and creates a forum thread.  After a while it became the "thing" for players to downvote news articles no matter the subject and with no reason ever given. When a thread has -60 and only 3 replies that doesn't really help anyone gather feedback other than "they don't like what was said". The immediate comeback is "why don't they like it" to which there wasn't an answer.

Regarding WG staff members, without checking individual accounts, pretty much all Community Team members have positive rep. Now in saying that even for individual staff members the "negative" feedback many received through this system is essentially 2 or 3 trolls clicking on their account weekly and then downvoting their recent posts regardless of what was said.  I fail to see how 1 person using 5 alt accounts to downvote a person (and not what the person is saying) is valid feedback or feedback that we can use to help shape the game or change what we're saying.

When it comes to the FORUMS we want to make this place as welcoming as possible and we feel this change will genuinely help players share opinions and views relevant to the topic. Whilst I appreciate that some players feel there is more pressing issues in the game to deal with, please remember we're not the Customer Support team who deal with account issues just like we're not the Development team who deal with map balance.

Lets keep this on topic please. There is more than enough thread about Unsportsmanlike Conduct, arty balance, matchmaker etc etc without the need to raise the issue here.  I'm pretty disappointed to see people who should know better, coming here to troll and representing a perfect example of exactly why this forum system needs reworked.

What am I supposed to hoard now if forum rep ceases to exist :<

Anyway, the only use for forum rep for me was that I could quickly check someone (combine this with checking the resent posts page and you have quite a good idea what you're dealing with) if I haven't seen him post around alot. Lots of negs per post, usually a pathetic troll. Lots of pos reps per post, usually funny/helpful to the community. Then we also had everything in between.

If u ask the Customer support how to prevent UC they are telling u that u should not play unsportsmanlike. They dont know about the UC problem or they dont care about it.

They are hired to keep up the status quo and not to change sth.

Solviing the + - on the Forum yeah it is a good decision but for me it does not matter...and its is definitely not a major change....

Personally, I like this new feature because it's also a "thing" for some ex-members of clans to downvote every thread from that clan.

Please, consider adding an option to hide personal stats like you did on WoWs to eliminate a lot of the toxicity of this game.

Thanks
