why do the game not come on steam

Because WG has its own base and distribution channels. And because money - if you distribute anything over Steam (like WT did with some bundles), a small share goes to Valve.

 

Basically a market decision =w=

They would need to pay Steam to put their Free to Play game on their system. They might benefit from the exposure a small amount, but I doubt it'd be enough to justify the fee's associated with distributing your game through Steam.

 

Besides, they are running a fair few TV Adverts recently, and the launch on major gaming platforms further serves to expose the PC version to a wider audience.

 

I discovered WoT through the Xbox 360 Beta's after all. And I'm here on PC.

You can still always add any game to steam as non steam game to enable the overlay and your friends to see what you're playing if that's what you are after.
