It seems there is a Polish Tree inching its way into WoTs, I am just wondering what the vehicles might be. I know of two atm. A Tankette and a Medium. ^0^

I am just wondering what in your opinion as players (and your guess) will they most likely be like.

Will make it easier to tell when a game is a lost cause, without having to use tripe like XVM.

My guess would be Polish versions of Russian/American/British tanks, spiced up with prototypes.

Tier 1: 7TP

Tier 2: 9TP

Tier 3: 10TP (prototype) and/or T70

Tier 4: 14TP (prototype)

Tier 5: T34/76 and/or Sherman

Tier 6: T34/85 and/or Sherman Firefly

Tier 7: T43 and/or Panther and/or Sherman (with Russian 85mm gun)

Tier 8: One of the PZI blueprints?

Tier 9: T54

Tier 10: T55

It might split into branches later on because the Polish had Tank destroyer and Heavy tank paper projects that never made it due to a German invasion coming to say hi.

In any case, I'd rather not see an entire tree full of clones, and neither would most of the community, I'd assume.

Or half a tree for that matter; low-tier China was bad enough.

Would you rather have clones, or blueprints?

T35/85 Rudy v2.0, or Polish O-I?

So far, WG's interpretation of prototypes and blueprints often makes them better than real tanks.

And I don't think it's likely a new tree will have a lot of inferior stuff.

Keeping things balanced and interesting at the same time is a tough job.

Since we already have tons of blueprint tanks in already, a few more wouldn't hurt and would, I hope, add more variety to the game than clone tanks.

I mean, take the Type (25)97 Chi-Ha for example; is there any meaningful difference between the Chinese and Japanese version?

The only difference I can find between the two is the gun selection, with both stock and top gun being identical (guns in-between rarely matter, afaik), and the Chinese version gets to carry 4 more shells (and at 100+ that rarely matters). Exact same stats otherwise; a sea of yellow in tank inspector.

Unrelated, the O-I is a poor example of a blueprint tank since it did have a prototype built.

Yes, if by prototype you mean that  it had one hull built, which got stuck in the mud and couldn't be moved

Pretty sure your precious T-34 would also have gotten stuck. General Mud does that to things.

I mentioned O-I because I think the Japanse heavy line is a rather good example of poorly balanced fantasy tanks.

What Polish blueprints/prototypes exist, that could come to life in this game (besides the pre-war lights)?

The Polish army used shermans and cromwells in 44/45. I read about plans to retrofit these with a Russian 85mm gun shortly after the war, but I don't think it was actually caried out.

I also read about German plans to produce the Panther near Warsaw; that could be interpreted by WG as a 'Polish' tank.

Or the (albeitly Czech) idea of a Panther-copy with a Russian 100mm gun; that could make a nice T8 med.

I've never seen any of the PZI blueprints; does anyone have a source for those?

Yep. But he does it rather more to 'tanks' which weigh 100 tons without a turret, crew or ammunition. I can understand the need to defend your nation, but calling a box, which proved complete failure at the first test a tank, is pusing it

Hey, how about captured tiger tanks!  Didnt the Polish capture one during the ghetto uprising?
