The inspiration for this post came from a team where 7/15 people went beach making sure that the chance we had to win was approaching 0. I assume their goal was to prove that winrate =/= skill and that they are good players even though their stats show red.

Below is a map marked for your convenience. Keep in mind that the lines are placed on the safe side of the cover, so the northeast purple line is meant for south spawn and vice versa.

Basically what you want to do on this map is farm damage and/or spot on the positions marked purple. most of these aren't "arty-safe", but there aren't a lot of skyscrapers on this map to begin with. if arty starts bothering you and doesn't randomly oneshot you just get unspotted and move to a different purple position.

Positions marked in green are for those situations where you feel like trading 1 for 1 is a bad idea where nothing can go wrong ever or for when you just want to wait for someone to run into your gun.

Positions marked red are just terrible, don't go there unless you enjoy being useless until your team has died off. their only use is locking down flanks while the enemy team ignores you and farms your team.

The beach is one of those special flanks where special people think it's a good idea to go, but in reality they just screw over their team by going there. Through lots of empirical evidence I have concluded that for every person that goes to beach, your winchance goes down 10%(assuming that you started at 50% chance to win). If you are one of those people, please consider a vasectomy in order to spare future generations from your stupidity.

Ivan, I envy you for your ability to have fun when your team decides to throw the game for you.

Lol, are you serious? This is just a game and I hope most of the people are not like you, playing for stats... just have fun :)

Even if it is for fun, do you want to be a burden for your team, because everyone sees you on the beach and thinks you are retarded?

Even with the recent change in map distribution the historically accurate tier 3,4,5 German tanks don't get to play Overlord. That is so sad :( I want to hunt through the Normandy hedgerows with my Stug and Hetzer please.

Super Pershing, Southern start, hide behind boat on beach, hold up 4 tanks on enemy team trying to crawl around the beach, Game becomes 14 on 11 and odds for win increase! :D

As 4 on other team have swarmed the beach, you can safely assume they aren't clever enough to charge forwards at the Super Pershing...

Threat revive go!

Just wondering, when do you go to that position you marked in the bottom right? (purple)

From what map side, and what situation? Never been there.

North to south if you're pushing over the 0 line. Gives you a crossfire on most tanks on your side of the middle road and sometimes nets you an arty.

Vice versa on the top right purple spot, except that one is a bit inaccurate as that entire area gives you different but decent angles. Moving up any further from those positions is situational as hell and probably a mad dash to get some damage in, so I didn't bother to put more positions in, for brevity.

Thanks for the answer. I tend to go to E4 on this map when I spawn North.
Cause of crossfire on two flanks, plus the flexibility to disengage on time, or move for a better firing solution.

I regard E4, D7, E9 and E0 as the best places to push in a medium. In a heavy I usually go E9 or E5 for arty safety. E4 is the best place to go if your team goes beach though. Gives you some decent firing lines and flexibility, while not overextending because you miss a few tanks.
