Ever notice how tanks can get stuck in 1 cm of wall? You're trying to pass near an obstacle and all of a sudden you're completely stuck just because 1 cm of you track is hitting the wall. Is this for real?

 

I can understand how that was alright with the old physics due to the fact that it was limited and what not (getting stuck or severely slowed down because the left track can't climb a 50 cm obstacle). However, with the new physics I would have imagined that someone would have come up with the bright idea of making the corners of houses something you can easily eat through or at least something that would make your tank ricochet a little bit in order to avoid it?

 

Come on, people, trolling not working today?

Yupp. That's annoying. Almost as annoying as getting stuck at the foot of a mountain/hill/rock ony because you get slightly stuck there with one track. But that's in the game for ages already.

That's why I'd still not leave the flat parts of the map, even with the new physics. Overall, movement is still way too buggy.

tbh hitting a wall corner like that at high speeds would wreck your front wheel sprocket if we'd be talking realism

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

but yes the full stop is kinda annoying

Realism and all, I think it depends on the hardness of the wall. Getting stuck in objects just because you can't overpass them but you hit them with 5 cm of your track .. that's bogus.

There's always going to be a hard edge to any impassable object.  Making that inside the visible edge would mean making the outside frangible... a lot of processing for minimal effect.

That's true, erinaceus, but at the same time, they could make 10 mm of the corner of any obstacle clippable.

brick wall corner getting hit by a JTiger mudflap, clipping it for 2-3 cm stops you death in your tracks forcing you to back up and try to drive around the corner again.

annoying as hell, never had that before the update

Absolutely terrible. There were so many things to improve, yet we get, what? - a useless new feature that only gets in the way.

 

And not for just light tanks. For example, it is not possible to 'slide' down a wall when you hit it at an angle. You're just stuck and are forced to reverse.

 

Pathetic waste of devs' time, particularly sad in the light of artillery problems, MM problems, reporting problems and so on. If this was a paid title, WoT would be ripped to shreds.

Well, old system was perfect 110% so can see your frustration at getting stuck on stuff all the time all the matches ... ehh...  yeah it can happen if you are unlucky  ... or can't drive ... or drive with a

hat and are old ... or a wom... ehh nope can't do that one since it's gender bias ...

 

l2d ...think I'll go with that one :P

 

but tbh,..new physics allows for some fun shots earlier impossible along some edges ... just got to be careful so you don't tip over :D
