In 12/09/1939 France and United Kingdom in Abbeville (France) decided that they would not attack the German and not help Poland    - this was the beginning of fr. drôle de guerre eng. phoney war de. Sitzkrieg.

In 3/09/1944 1st Polish Panzer Division commanded by General Maczek liberated this city.  :Smile-izmena:

England and France promised the help to Poland and haven't helped. Poland has fallen unfortunately.

Why should french and english soldiers "die for Danzig", "Mourir pour Danzig?", like they named it.

Because their Leaders promised it to Poland. (as they did to Czechoslovakia) But who would expect that they would break their promise this time too. ;)

Edit: Actually this could have ended ww2 within weeks since the wehrmacht was extremly weak after the war in poland.

Because in August 1939 UK and France make an aliance with Poland that if someone will be attacked other countries will help by using military forces, and thats why they should :) On 3 September UK and France declared War to Germany and French soliders "attacked" nazis and get 2km of German border and stoped.   Hitler was afraid of that and he know that if France and UK will attack Germany will fall because most of German troops were in Poland.

And why didn't the UK and France declare war on the Soviet Union then? The SU took eastpoland.

It was not only about Poland. Former Czechoslovakia was sacrificed as well... Cause they (France + UK) thought germans will take us and that will do it, no more fighting... Who cares about some weird nations on east, right?

Don't really understand. You mean that 303 squadron got more kills than any other RAF squadron?

I mean that it was the best RAF unit because polish squadron 303 belongs to RAF. This squadron destoyed 126 planes. Read here:
http://en.wikipedia....Squadron  wiki: "It was the highest scoring RAF squadron of the Battle of Britain."
