Really good to see a creative contest again, it's been ages and they were always fun!

I might enter depending on how much spare time I have this time around :)

Can't wait to see cropped images from the first page of google search and getting first prizes.

people going to spend 100s making stuff to try and get that type remembering the Card contest some guy moaning 'cos he spent $300 on diorama and only getting 750 gold  and another sent in a slab of steel lol i see why you have no rules this time seeing as the majority of winning entries weren't cards stirred the community good there

tbh the cost alone of P&P will out weigh most those prizes

what you should be doing is giving out more prizes of value (scrap the 7 days premium it's only £4.22, less than P&P would cost ;) or, at least thinking of giving everyone something, IE gold, personal reserves could even make one up like

5 X5 exp and credits for 5 hours

it cost you nothing except a few hours wage putting in the persons user name

considering you boasted over 10k card entries

why not just put it on the market for £100 net yourself a couple hundred grand and beef up the prizes to a gaming PC/laptop something useful for the game

This is the address where people have to send their contest entries to. It's not one where people can just e-mail a picture to.  You have to physically create an artwork.

Well that's not going to happen as there is no electronic way of entering the contest. I'd say it's next to impossible to win the contest with an a4 printed piece of paper of a cool google image you found.

When we did the 2nd year contest we said "everyone would get a prize" - that resulted in over 14,000 entries. I can't quite explain to you just how long that took for us to go through each entry, catalogue/record every player's name and then sort out a winners list.  For this contest the prize pool is limited so that we hope players won't go overboard with their entries. The bigger the entry doesn't automatically equal first prize.  It's up for players to decide if the contest is worth their time/effort to enter, if not there is always the in-game contest which is easily available for everyone.

I don't agree with the idea of contests where people get prizes just for participating or for putting in very little effort. The very definition of contest is "A struggle for superiority or victory" not " just turn up and you'll be a winner".

but you do accept graphic designs made on A4 format (for example)? does it have to be something elaborate in terms of dioramas and such or can we keep it simpler and create 2D designs and still hope to be competitive in the contest?

maybe you should've created categories...

i understand how long it would take to input that amount of entries even with a simple name and enter system, and go through that amount to choose the winners

i was using it a a reference to costing of P&P, that's was just a card you now need to apply weight and size just a token not a prize it's like

imagine you did 10 hours over time this month then didn't get it paid next month and they turn round and say we didn't tell you would, you wouldn't be very happy

however if they said you can have 10 hours off this week you'd be like ok fair enough, i wouldn't begrudge that sort of thing too much if it happen to me, im not saying give them everything just like a reimbursement of time taken wouldn't go amiss

tbh i foresee the heavens opening and gods wrath coming down come the announcements of winners with 3D printed Tigers but no you must laugh because you know the fandom wrath is coming maybe not the 3D printed tiger,

It will take a while to announce the winners. Bigger doesn't equal best.  Sadly when it comes to doing creative contests the judgement of winners will always be something where everyone has a different opinion (which is part of the reason why creative style contests are avoided now).  We'll make sure as many people within the community team give their feedback, it's not like just 1 or 2 people will be judging the winners.

Does the physical part mean I have to draw or paint my entry or can I just make it on a computer and print it?

I have spent a few hours today using various images from internet and some good o'l tweaking on MS paint & MS word and have an A3  'poster' as it were. I would assume that would be enough? I think an elaborate 3D model or design could easily become over the top!

PS: I hope its o.k to tweak WoT logo stuff to then enter into the competition :P Don't want to go into detail without giving away my entry...
