Interesting. I live in the other part of Holland as opposed to Rotterdam but I suppose it's worth a look, could be a good day out if I go. :)

WG comes to my country, still 200 km driving for me, and I can't drive. Yay...

Good that you're visiting the most beautiful city of my country :).

If I have a spare moment, will make sure to drop by.

Buses? We only take those in the city. City to city we travel by train.

He Guys,

You should plan to take the MGT-20 truck to the TankEvent as well. This is the first Tank show that will be held in the weekend of 27 and 28 of August at the Dutch Military Museum in Soesterberg (Nederlands Militair Museum)... They have actually build a special Arena for tank demonstrations... Apart from their collection probably also several tanks from the Cavalry Museum in Amersfoort (just 10 km down to road) will be shown (Like one of the few remaining RAM II tanks)..

They have 6 000 tickets available for these demonstrations, so should be a very nice event to interest people to play the game. or to meet up with many tank enthousiasts...

I really appreciate that WG is visting our tiny country. But why not go to the Firstlook event in Utrecht ? That city is much more central (in the middle of Holland)

Sadly this event is the week following Gamescom so it's unlikely we'll have the resources to go there. Leading up to Gamescom and after it there is a pause in events as so much focus and manpower is needed for that event. We considered it but we just simply wouldn't have the staff available to plan and organise the event.

We've attended Firstlook for 3 out of the last 4 years.  The main aspect of "Firstlook" however is to check out new and upcoming games that have just been released or are about to be released.  We're currently not at the stage to showcase our plans for the future and the only "new" game we would have is Master of Orion which isn't really a sit down and play for about 15 mins type game.  We may still go to an event in the Netherlands later in the year, but can't make any guarantees.

Interesting, what event would that be?

So... Today I was at Firstlook Battlecon in Rotterdam and I actually met some of the staff, including Ectar (I was the fat guy that joined with his wife?)

I have to say, the event, except for Wargaming, yes seriously, is not worth attending. There are a couple games being showcased which you can play, but, again except for Wargaming, all in a competition form. If you are new to these games you do not get the oppertunity to just fool around or have a good look. To me and my wife this was very disappointing.

Fortunately as noted before we did get to meet up with some of the Staff. Funny enough, Ectar actually knows The Dingers from the forums. Surprise surprise! On the painful side I do not think my name even rang a silent bell. This is something I should work on. I played some World of Tanks, any tank, any modules, all the crew skills, all HEAT in a WT E100... that is one hillarious tank. Autoloader gun with what around 1000 dmg per shot? The shells fly a bit slow though. This might be the only chance I would get to actually drive that tank, so that was cool. Then I played some World of Warships. Let's just say I tried my best. After all this I drove a RC Tiger tank on the old training map in real life, it can even shoot. The traverse speed of that tank is enormous. At this moment I am actually grinding towards the Tiger II, I wish my Tiger I would have the same traverse speed. We took some pictures and we decided to leave. When leaving the Wargaming area we were presented with a free t-shirt. My wife got a M and it fits perfectly, I received a XXL, more on this in a little bit. Lateron on our way home we discovered that the bag (which included the T-shirt) actually had a bonus code! YAY!

Ok... So here's the real issue. The M t-shirt is like the Tiger, the XXL t-shirt is like the TOG II, but me, I need a t-shirt that is like the O-I. So lateron in August I will join you guys at Gamescom in Koln (anyone like to meet and greet?). I expect Ectar to at least have heard about me and an "O-I sized" t-shirt. ;)

If you look closely at the t-shirt photo you can see the bonus card. I already have the Chi Nu Kai. If I am correct I will get the equivalent in gold which will be used to get another to be decided tank.

Been there, good show by Wargaming, best looking setup in the event with ease!

Shame there weren't any competitions in WoT.

Picture with a really bad phone-camera

Anywhere we can find pictures taken there? I'm quite sure my picture got taken several times (not a clue why, really who'd want my picture?).

Thanks again the for shirt, hat and bonus-code! Tho like Cronester said, the shirt is a bit smallish.

Black baseball-cap with the World of Tanks-logo. Was in the bag. Got it from the pretty girl at the T-shirts!
