Here's one of my performances. I haven't played particularly well, but that's maybe because I don't like the tank anymore. 12 shots, 7 hits, 3 pens, but it was poor play with that Chieftain.

Anyways, besides the damage the tank gets, the gun feels a lot worse than on the Lorraine, or is that just me?

It's "just you". Fun fact: The T9 BC has not only better gunhandling than the Lorraine had, but also outclasses the T10 BC in that regard.

True story.

the 25ap is way better than lorraine would ever be in her wet dreams.

- can work as spotter, and since you have long reloads well, helps the team,

- gun handling is really nice, you can even snipe well, and  after the bad gun handling of the 13 90 and the t10 bc you can even hit with half aimed shots.

- the size, lorraine was horrible, arti would hunt you(now they can try, but is more agile, harder to hit and less likely to be spotted)

can carry hard teams when played properly.

But it brings me to the last question. What is the crew problem? The Lorraine had 3 and this one as well. What am I missing out on?

The AP initially had a crew of 4 on the test server. WG changed it before release to match the other tanks in the line.

A question of my own - what crew skills/perks are best suited to the tank?

I'm going to fit vert. stabs., vents and optics and putting female crew in the AP, who'll end up in the BatChat so BiA/SoS is there. First skill on the commander is sixth sense, obviously, then I'm planning to train camo -> repairs -> sit. aware -> whatever. The driver and gunner will get the same second and third skills (camo, repairs) followed by whatever.

As I get the first skill free, should I put safe stowage on the gunner at the start? I usually train snap shot but on the AP that only gives a 0.01 improvement in turret dispersion with VS fitted (tanks.gg, 0.11 to 0.10) and I don't see that as a game-changing difference. Reading about the amount of module damage this tank suffers, it seems sensible to mitigate the ammo rack going down, putting snap shot down to the first whatever skill.

For the driver, is smooth ride or clutch braking the better choice for the free skill? Again, SR only gives an improvement of 0.01 (0.13 to 0.12) whereas CB increases hull traverse by 2.2o/s, which appears more useful on a paper-armoured medium.

Nope. I loose either my engine, ammorack or driver every game....or all of them. I`m considering using 2 repairkits.

Can totally confirm this, every shot that you receive will damage engine or ammorack.

Bought it, like it, but suck at it. Its playstyle is incomparable to the other tier 9 meds and i'll need some time to adjust.

I also should resist the urge to rush hill on mines, then find out i'm alone, chased by 3 enemy lights and still need another 10 seconds to load my clip.. RIP..

Running vstab, optics and gld now. Vents aren't particularly useful with my not so great crew.

So far..

Pros

- Gun handling is pretty decent for a french tank. On the move dispersion is pretty decent, allowing for some driveby Tupac style snapshotting

- Camo is really good, it can double as a pretty decent scout when the "real" scouts have all yoloed to their fiery deaths within the 1st minute of the game.

- Pen is decent at 238, but then again the gold rounds only provide 30 more so i dont bother with them

- I like the size and speed.. I've dodged some shots that would surely have finished me, if the tank was any bigger/less agile.

Cons

- Shell velocity is horribly slow. I've seen rocks get thrown faster. So sniping will result in tears

- Reload seems a bit long, compared to the other t9 autoloaders. It does have a 6 shell clip, but come on.. 43 seconds? A Skoda will rape you 10 times over.

- The engine will die every single game. If you get hit: Dead engine. Might be worth going for 2x repairs as i dont think it burns that much..  (fingerscrossed)

Anyways. This will be my go-to tier 9 med for the coming week(s). That is, until i ragesell it.

I rate 8/10

Hehe, just sold my 50-100, bought the mini-batchat and moved the crew over, enter a random battle and end up with Conor in my team. I had a decent match going untill I got caught out of of position a during a reload, but Conor went on to a nice 5k damage game. Kudo's to him. :honoring:

The mini-batchat, I love it. Such a breath of fresh air after the 50-100.

It's a fun tank to play. Just finished the grind yesterday. Dennez already summarized the good and the bad about this tank. I feel it's not that powerful really, but it is fun. Comparing to other tier 9 mediums it suffers because alpha is so much less and shells fly so slowly. So basically the only way you can outplay similar tier enemies is through your speed and the clip. That means usually you only become a real force in the late game when you are able to flank your opponents.

Because the tank is so vulnerable, you need to rely on team more than is usual. Soloing lone enemies is still a viable tactic but it takes a long time to unload that clip so you bleed HP a lot each time you attack. One thing also is that while the tier 9 B-C is just as fast as the tier 10 B-C in most cases, it ultimately lacks the power-to-weight to climb the more advanced climbing locations. Where the tier 10 can climb and surprise enemies, the tier 9 one usually cannot.

Also, the turret traverse is too slow to fully utilize your agility in circling enemies. You will see that your turret cannot keep up with how fast your tank is turning, so often times you need hand brake to succesfully circle an enemy.

The engine that dies in 50% of your games, the slow shells and low alpha are the reasons I did not keep this tank. On the positive side, it works quite well with pure AP loadout - never fired one single premium round in it. If only one of those weaknesses were fixed, it would be a keeper. But as it is, I did 10% less DPG in it than the best tier 9 meds (AMX 30 and M46 Patton).

I grinded 75% of the tier 9 French medium in Lorrain with very mixed results. Then came the protobat and the last 25% of the grind became a pleasure.

It's a better tank than the lorraine, primarily due to the MUCH smaller size.

Also, I pretty much agree with Dennez' points.

Fun tank/clown car.

I just got/elited the big brother Batchat 25t and god jeeezus christ the gun handling is horrible compared to the baby Bat. If it wasnt for the constant engine damage i'd already start to regret selling the babyBat,

I haven't played the Skoda, but the Bat AP sure isn't trash. You can farm damage with it easily, but the long reload and lacking ammo capacity hinders your ability to carry games.

Easiest 3rd mark I've done, but can't carry as well as you could with for example the real BC. Engine dies quite frequently, but doesnt catch fire easily, so food is viable instead of AFE.

Gun handling is pathetic, even with my 5 skills crew/food,gun pen is a joke in tier X,i lost a game because i cant pen a 268  with gold, every hit in the front is engine damage or fire,Reload is almost on Par with Foch 155 lmao...

Sure there are worst tier 9 meds, maybe i expected too much from this

A bit of a shame they didn't split the stats like they do with most other tanks, so it's difficult for me to judge how well I am doing in it. It's not as bad as my first few experiences with it. I have switched to a full gold setup, but the new crew I had recruited for the Lorraine 40t is probably going to the AMX 30 line as I just can't enjoy this thing.

Rebought it because i missed it.. And i cou;dnt stand the TX BatChat gun handling, compared to this. I still love it. As others have mentioned it's a breath of fresh air compared to the other T9 meds.

But they should buff the reload on this a bit, just to get the DPM on par with the other T9 meds.

i think the bc25t AP is a bit better than bc25 t  overall with the exception of the tier X gun the last one uses.

I find it extremely agile (i`m using gasoline - which u cant use on the tier X) and its like sooooooooooooo flexible across the map it gives you enormous advantage.
