Hello fellow tankers

Today I would like to show you my review about the AC 4 Experimental. The tier 6 british (australian) premium medium tank.

Summary:

I personally like the AC 4 Exp quite much but if you allready have the Cromwell B I would probably reconsider to get this tank. Don't forget, the Cromwell B is literally a Cromwell from the normal techtree. With the price of 15€ I think you should rethink of buying anohter t6 british premium medium tank. If you don't have the Cromwell B I definitly could recommand you the AC 4 Exp. It plays like an Achilles ( T6 British TD), just a bit slower and less accurat. Otherwise the DPM and gun stats are really good and allow you to carry games. Also you are not useless in T8 games with your good penetration of AP and APCR.

If you enjoyed my Review please leave a like and a comment and probably consider subscribing to my youtubechannel for more reviews, previews, overviews and commentarys.

Also feel free to give me some feedback in the process because nobody is perfect so I try to improve on every single mistake I make.

But please don't be mad at my voice. My nose is still kinda blocked because of some minor nose surgery, and NO it was not for beauty...

Cheers

RagingRaptor

English part of the forum, you must have mistaken this for the German speaking section.

Plays like a turreted td without the alpha or armour. Slow as **** going uphill, even on a slight inclide it slows to TOG-speed. Very much regret buying it, thought I would enjoy it since I love my Firefly, but alas, no....

I personally like my AC 4 Exp. It suits my playstyle tbh. You need to plan ahead and need to know where you can farm your damage with the quite accurat gun and good enough pen and dpm.

My only gripe with this is that utterly pathetic engine power; the terrain on some maps results in you being crippled before the countdown even begins.

Massive necro, but dont think it warrants a new thread: since it is on sale today, I am wondering how the tank handles the current meta? I already own the Cromwell B, so Brit crew training is taken care of. The RoF + pen & dmg somehow appeals to me, and I am used to slow vehicles like the Churchill III etc. Would high octane consumable offset the bad mobility enough (never ran a tank with octane...?

Curiously it's on sale, but if you search for it with the filters enabled (british or tier) it's not there :amazed:

Bought this today, OMG what a tank :D

First of all I love that some of the Australian machines are in the game under the British banner for the commonwealth family feel, just a shame the Canadian one(s?) count as American instead.

Anyway the tank, it incorporates everything I love about British meds, and more.  Loving the 171/239 pen, it's kinda hilarious that this tier VI has better pen than my tier VIII IS-6 (and better DPM too as unlike those it can actually penetrate the things it finds in front of it lol).  Gun handling is sublime, only thing that lets it down compared to my cromwell B is speed, but for all the benefits I will gladly take the trade.

I also find it OMG, but not in a good sense. This tanks has two pros: pen and gun depression. That's it, everything else is more or less bad. The gun handling is not sublime, it's awful. Most players will most likely need to invest in a larger monitor to fit all of the gun bloom :P Also, it is not particularly accurate and DPM is considerably lower than the good tier 6 meds. The real deal breaker is however how incredibly sluggish it is. 60km/h? Maybe if you drop it off a steep hill. In reality 25-35, 10 if going uphill. Yes, it has worse power to weigh ratio than an O-Ni. Worse at climbing hills than a super heavy... But I'm glad some people are liking it. I'll sell mine next time when in need of credits.

One of 2 tanks in the game that drive me mad whenever I play them or sometimes when I just see them in the garage.

Its the mobility or complete lack of it, one of the very few times I can claim that wargaming deliberately misled me

Why

Well when you advertise a tank and say it can do 60 you expect it to at some point during gameplay to well reach 60.

Sorry but on an absolutely flat map with good terrain 60 is a number you will not see.

If you look at it in the garage it says Mobility with my 3 skill crew and equipment load 654

Same crew on the cromwell  719 so ok not as mobile as the cromwell.

How about the Sherman Firefly similar vehicle in many ways but its mobility is way less 419

The result is this.

The High mobility Cromwell can sometimes hit its stated 64 or at least very close

The slower Firefly can easily reach its stated speed of 36

But the poor old AC4 experimental has no hope of reaching its stated 60.

It has a small engine 110 hp less than the firefly and 320 hp less than the Cromwell.

Nope sorry when they put it up for sale and said 60 you expect a fast tank it isn't same for the AC1 Sentinel also a 60 tank that only trundles around at 40

I am reminded of this whenever I see the garage stats.

Do not state a speed that the tank cannot be expected to reach in normal gameplay and correct the garage stats it just reminds me I was misled

This tank is more of a TD than an actual tank, and can be rewarding to play it s that, as in any other tank u need to find the sweet spot, what u can and cannot do with it to maximize its potencial,  i can tell u, it was one of the most fun tanks to play so far for me, despite as stated that speed it has... Really pisses one off many times.

Pish tank, not really competitive and has to snipe rather than play as a traditional medium.
