It's a bit odd to say Watt patented the first steam engine. Steam engines had been in use for fifty years before the Boulton & Watt engine came along. The Boulton & Watt engine substantially improved the efficiency and allowed it to be used away from mines and other places with plentiful fuel sources so they did make it much more widespread.

However, if you want to highlight a development of the steam engine then surely the high pressure steam engine by Richard Trevithick is most relevant here. That was the first steam engine with a high enough power to weight ratio to be used to drive vehicles.

this this tank would require specific mode - you have to switch of your monitor and aim on opposite map.

Great article, I'm looking forward to the sequel.

And please introduce WW I tanks on level 0 :-) I would like to play with Mark IV for example.

Breach loading guns had been in existence since the middle ages. Bronze/Wrought Iron breech loaders were recovered from the Mary Rose when it was salvaged from The Solent.

No Wargaming article could be complete without some sort of hyperbolic Soviet era claim about inventing something they didn't. Vasily Pyatov my eye.
