Hi guys, and to cut to the chase, i have a question. What is the BIGGEST tank in the game? No, not the best, the BIGGEST (notice my use of caps-lock for emphasis of BIGGEST). I know that the Maus is pretty damn huge, but i saw an SU-14 the other day, and that looked even bigger. So what is the BIGGEST tank in the game guys?  :Smile-playing:

....BIGGEST!

Probably the GW Tiger, or GW Typ E.

It's either the E-100 or Maus. I know that the Maus was the largest tank ever built, but I don't think they included half-built tanks when working out which one was biggest.

The maus is undoubtedly the biggest tank, but some of the SPGs may be bigger.

It depends on how you're measuring really, there are certainly tanks that are longer or wider.

Bigger in mass or tonnage? I would bet the School bus (Su14) is the largest mass, but the maus has the highest tonnage.

Mass and tonnage is the same.

You mean mass and volume, right?

I agree with my pre-posters, though, some of those SPGs are friggin huge.

I think he was referring to mass as in size or tonnage as in how heavy that tank is. GW Tiger / GW Typ E are freaking long, like a train wagon or something. :)

exactly, but mass has nothing to do with size or volume whatsoever.

Mass might be a product of volume and density, but density has a lot to do with how much air space there is in the tank (most arty have a lot of space around cannon)

I agree with steamrick. It's important to be precise here, and not confuse different terms.

Size can pretty much be measured in three/four different ways:

Mass = weight (or tonnage as someone has put it)
Volume = width x length x height
Area = width x length
Surface area = the area of the outline of the tank (this is probably not any point in measuring, since volume covers about the same thing)

- By mass, the Maus is the biggest. No doubt there.
- By volume, it's probably one of the SPGs. I agree with the above poster speculating whether it could be the GW Typ E
- By area, it might possibly be the T95? Or it might be one of the mentioned vehicles above... I'm not sure about this one.

I'd say it's the top tier german arty by volume, maus by mass and T95 covers the largest land area.

soooo /puts on the tinfoil hat/ arty gobbles up the most air, maus pushes the earth out of orbit the most and t95 sucks up the most sun rays  :Smile-hiding:

It's not really known as anything.. People call it different things.. I don't call the Ferdi the elephant, I call the M6A2E1 the Elephant tho, but not to anyone else but my friends and they call it that aswell..

T95 weighs over 90 tons and is pretty wide.
